Very worried!!!!

I am 13 weeks pregnant and i am very worried. I have been in pain management for 3 years now due to a horriffic car accident and have to take pain medication (vicodin). Im not addicted it is taken properly for a legitamate purpose. i know they do drug screening at prenatal visits and i told them exactly what i was taking and they were ok with it. even though it is prescribed do they still have to report me to C.P.S.? i had this issue when i had my daughter (a different doctor) they were aware of the medications, the doctor even called them to see if it was ok. they said nothing about it, them BAMMM!! right after delivery my baby was tested 3 days later C.P.S. was knocking at my door. Luckily the investigation went no where because i had proof of prescriptions, but still. Y? if they knew y call C.P.S.? Im just afraid it will happen agian because my first visit i had the medicine in my system. Does anyone know anything about how this works?

I have to work with cps a lot with some of my patients, so I do have some knowledge in this field. Like the member who posted above, I too am surprised that cps got involved with your first child. As long as you have a valid prescription for what you are taking, and your Dr is aware, you should have no problems.

I don't even understand why your doc would have to call cps and ask if it was ok. What kind of doctor doesn't know his job? And then cps still got involved? Do u have a past drug history? Or did thy suspect u of abusing? I hope u don't take offense cause I don't mean this twd u, but it sounds like people aren't very smart. You shouldn't have anything to worry about off its prescribed to u n u don't abuse it. Cps will just be harassing u if they get involved and I would sue them for mental anguish if I were u!  I would see a different doctor then the 1 st one and tell him what happened to you. I will say I may have heard its routine for some states to have cps test if u were taking certain meds while pregnant, but that sound very costly. So its don't make sense to me but I think I have heard that. You already sound like Ur suffering some mental anguish and that's not fair! U should be able to enjoy Ur pregnancy ( or at least try to.. pregnancy was miserable for me) I would call a law office n find out what the laws are where u live. Good luck and relax!
