What can I take to lesson the withdrawals, not make them worse?

OMG! I tried to use remidies I purchased at the store, bananna's, apple juice, and Night Time Sleep aids pills-over the counter. I ate 3 bannana's, 3 glasses of apple juice and took 2 sleeping aid pills...(I have backed off my dosage of percocets as far as I can-requireing 1 10-650 every 8 hours instead of the doctors required 6 hours) Within 2 hours of my needed last dose of percocet, I was in pure raw agony, twitching and jittery, pacing and so uncomfortable, it felt like spiders were crawling over every inch of my skin. I didn't even feel any normal pain, I was so beyond feeling anything normal. I've never felt so miserable in my life!! Coming off of heroine as a teenager was kids stuff compared to this! When I started using percocet in place of morphine for my back pain, there was no real wd problem at all.

But this, I broke almost instantly and had to take 2 pills just to get rid of the feelings.
I don't think I can do this. I live alone in a very nice studio apartment with my pet Rat Terrier, and being alone seemed to make things worse. But, I don't have any family alive, nearby. I've no one to turn to, and all my friends do pills or pot, so I can't depend on any of them. In the past, pot helped alittle bit, when coming off of a drug like heroine or cocaine, but I am afraid to get some and try it for this, if it doesn't help, I've messed up my prescription and wont get percocets anymore at all!

God, how I wish I'd never have started this Pain Management in the first place! I could deal with the sweats, soreness of back and legs...its the nerves, sensitive skin, and jitters that drive me totally insane!
Its so bad, if I can't kick this I'm afraid of what I'll do. Its crazy, I know...for a guy once dubbed as "Mr. Invincible" in the ring, but damn, this has got to be the worst thing in the world to defeat!!!

I don't know what to do.

Ok...  :)  step by step

1) These products will help you with RLS ( night are a hell with RLS)  Hylands restful legs is the brand name of the product, ask for it because it is a very small bottle and sometimes it got overlooked. Same with Hylands cramps legs.

about number 5) Natural Calm , i think is a magnesium suplemment .... magnesium, calcium and potasium are minerals that will help you with muscle cramps and aches  and with RLS ( bananas and apple juice are rich on potasium and this is the reason they are recommended )

2) a good vitamin complex... and i would add a B's complex and vitamin C.

4) you will experience problems with sleep and anxiety, this is quite normal and i would  tell you that you will still have problems with sleep and anxiety  even if you are taking some stuff to help you . There is no magical pill to erase those wds symptoms but at least you can alleviate  them a litlle bit.... If you are not taking anything else apart from the percocets, we advice melatonin to help with sleep , it is non habit forming ( OTC ) along with valerian root ( this is a herb , so it is not a brand name, look for valerian root )... valerian is a help with anxiety too.

I have just remembered that there are some people that are taking supersnooze to help with sleep ...  and it has many of the ingredients that we are advising all in one so you could try this product... supersnooze to start with and see how you are feeling... maybe with the days , you will see if you need anything of the above.

5) Epsom salts are magnesium tablets... you will feel much better  after taking one of those hot baths with the salts, it is a temporary relieve but it is one good one :)

so.... i would  start with the  Supersnooze (  i think the brand is  "puritan's pride " ), the vitamin complex and the B's complex and vitamin C,  , maybe the valerian root cause i feel you are already quite nervous and the epsom salts along with immodium ( diarrhea ) and advil ........ keep eating as much bananas as you can, the apple juice, some gatorades....

so what do you usually drink to stay hydrated?  You don't want to get dehydrated again.  Maybe you should drink some gatorade or something with electrolytes.  Something... weak hot chocolate?  but that has some caffiene... hmmmm... how about decaf coffee.  I drink that and does not seem to bother me.

Thanks dear, I'm assuming basicly the same thing. I did sleep alot last night, and got a few more hours today, it seems that the wd's come on stronger when  you sleep and wake up, so I'm not going to push for sleep, just rest in my office chair. Phyllis went home, she said she'd call tonight, and see me tomorrow. She really is a doll. I guess it was wrong to break up with her just because she takes pain meds too, I'm stronger than that, and she's promised me she'll not allow her meds to entice me. I'm not even desiring pain relief actually, I just want this to be over and get back to normal. I tried water earlier, nothings changed, it made me gag

hi Gary.

this rls stuff can last awhile, and the no sleep can too.  The worst I ever experienced was I did not sleep from day one for 12 days.  I thought I would absolutely die, but that is when then had me on oxy and had started me on methadone(thank god I decided to quit a few days later.

this time and other times with norcos, usually the rls and no sleep last till about the 6-7 day... and each day after the 72 hours I would get a little more sleep each day... 1-2 hrs at a time... following right along on schedule here with the 1-2 hrs..but very early this morning got an extra 2 1/2 hours sleep, so I think the sleep is kicking in.

Just rode along to the store a little while ago and by the time I got home, I am tired out, but not sleepy, my legs were bothering me in the car, but other than that I am doing okay.  You should be following along soon.  Mainly we just have to give it time for the sleep to kick in.

I do find I am getting adrenline surges but I think that is from the cortisone shot I got in my shoulder almost 2 weeks ago.  I would think by tonight you should be getting some more sleep and hopefully tomorrow will be pretty dang good.

Thanks Gnarly, I'm feeling much better knowing someone else had simuliar wd side affects. My problem, so I've been informed is not drinking enough fluids-water, I cannot plain drink water because it gags me, and so that may have been my problem, or at least part of it.

I had falsely assumed that it was behind me, but I guess it was the stuff they pumped in to me in the hospital. So, I'm still alittle jittery and basicly miserable, but not nearly as bad as it was.

Thanks for the words of comfort and I'll keep posting for anyone who finds help in my posts.

Ok, I can read between the lines, very well. I am slightly 'Angered' by what I read. Yes, Phil and I have been together about 5 or 6 years, and I would assume we have simuliar traits in most cases, but in no way... NO WAY, was anything said that was untrue or falsely posted! I read her post, and it sounded kinda mixed up abit, but its Phil. My honesty is like my crest of arms. I've no reason to lie to anyone, I'm not getting a reward or title for any of this. Nor any other kinda gain! This is about as reprimanding and 'mean' as I'm allowed to be to a woman, due to my mothers upbringing of me. Hopefully is is enough, I never speak so bluntly to a woman, it is not in my nature to do so.

But, assuming I'm reading abit more into this than there is-which is but fair to those you've led to believe otherwise with your last post...I'll answer your questions...

1. I haven't the slightest what was pumped into my IV, nor do I know what kinda IV it was. It was a clear bag, hanging over me, and was into my hand, rather than my arm. Thats about all I can tell you about that.

2. The reason for discharging me, As I remember, I started raising hell from the moment I awoke, until the moment I began to dress after ripping the IV outa my arm and stating rather pointedly... "I wont start this **** again!"  When I speak to someone in that tone, very few people can look into my eyes without knowing I'm going to get what I want or someone else is going to feel pain! I've practivced the 'looks' over the years and pretty much made it an art form.

3. The doctor assured me there was no pain medicine given to me thru IV because of what I had told them in the emergency room upon admittance, just medicine to help me rest/sleep. The conversations between him, me, and the nurses were abit more dramatic and involved than I wrote, but then again, I was raised never to be offensive or foul mouthed to ladies, so I shortened alot of it.

4. Sewer stop...She ask about stopping at an over night pharmacy as we were on our way home, and I seen the sewer ahead as we were at the light... Therefore when she was ask to stop, I merely walked about 10 feet to the sewer.

5. Evidently I mispoke myself earlier and falsely assumed this was all behind me, I guess it was the stuff put into my IV, I'm back to jittery RSL again, not as bad as before, but runny nose and sweats are here too.

I doubt it is going to be as bad, because of the legth of my detox having been 4 days of this...merely my body trying one last attempt to break me and get the 'goodies', not a chance though. As I told the doctor last night, I'm not going through this again!

Hopefullly, I've not upset you with my statements, but it kinda bothered me that you assumed some type of charade.

As for tests done, blood work, EKG, EEG and whatever else I do not know.
