What was your experience with Fresh Start - Narconon addiction treatment center?

My adult son recently went to the Fresh Start Programs treatment center in Nevada and California. It cost $33,000 up front. He had a really bad experience there. He was told he could take his depression medicine but they would not let him. They sent him to the hospital when he became very upset but did not follow up or check on him. He was allowed to just walk out and then disappeared and relapsed. He was only there 4 weeks but they will not give any type of refund. I later found out they are part of Narconon but they never disclosed that. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get at least a partial refund? I cant afford to put my son in another treatment center at this point. Is there a better way to find truthful and proven treatment centers so I wont get ripped off again?

I can tell you for sure from experience that a lot of these centers promote themselves as great places but basically they are all the same unless you're a movie star. One thing for sure is that your son has to want to do it. Personally I did not have the resources and had to go It Old School. But I wanted it. I can assure you that when he wants to he can do it. It's very hard as I have several family members that have done the rehab scams and it always turns out the same 50 to 100 K in the hole and still no result long-term. Until someone wants to quit on their own and has reason to quit all the money and rehabs aren't going to do it. Suboxone is a replacement fix however, be careful there. Withdrawing from Suboxone is the worst. Also it is impossible. The doctors prescribing and big pharmaceutical companies will have your son on this drug and long-term research is showing that it ruins teeth as well as attacks neurologically. 5 years down the road your son will be having every sign and symptom of Parkinson's from that drug. I have seen this firsthand. I know you're frustrated I sympathize with that, but your son has to make this decision and do it on his own. Good luck God bless.
