When can I sleep and breathe?

I've been on pills for 11 yes straight. I started because of medical reasons. I'm not making excuses but the Dr just kept handing them out and making them stronger. I was always OK 5ys ago if I ran out of Vic's, just tired and stomach. These past yes I was/am "prescribed" 120mg per day of Oxys. I have been taking and/or snorting 280+ mg a day. Then getting what I could find to take edge off and getting script early.
Ive cut all the wrong people out of my life, ran out of oxys 7 days ago, and i have had 1 pill a day when i'm at my worst point these day. Some may say i haven't "quit" but thats a hell of a jump. 8-10 pills to 1.
Night time when everyone else is asleep and I can't is driving me mad! I don't understand some cites say you can't sleep and others say that's all you do during withdrawas. I've had 1-3hr per day for 7 now. When can I sleep? I feel like I can't breathe but my hearts pounding from my head to chest, heck I'm a total mess. I have EVERY WD symptom I have read on many cites.  I'm afraid I'm going to have a heart attack. PLEASE I NEED ADVICE!!
Should I go a few more days with 1 pill then quit, or will script and cut down slower?

Yeah my friend above is right. You're doing the right thing here so stick with your plan. But the saying, "there isn't enough air in the room to breathe" is an effect from wd's. The sleepless problem is a classic. It's not easy cleaning ourselves up but it's darn worth it. Don't give in to the demon addiction as it has so many ways to distract you from your goal. Stay strong and you will persevere. The best of luck to you. You can do it!...ike

Honey:

We can't possibly give you advice on what you should take or not take, because we aren't doctors and dont' know your medical history.

I think you should see a physician, and get evaluated.  Tell them the 100% truth; all of it.   Don't let them put you on methadone, I hear it is HORRIBLE to detox from.   But you need to be evaluated for blood pressure, heart rate, etc.

How old are you?   Your daily rate of intake was high, and I suspect you've got another week of feeling miserable, then it will slowly get better...BUT.  The heart pounding worries me.    If you have your own doctor, please get to see him/her asap.

If not, I'd go to an urgent care, walk in clinic, or ER.   Tell them what is going on...and of course, be prepared to have a thick skin.   Sometimes medical personnel discount folks who have opiate addictions as less than human.  That pisses me off to no end.

Good luck, and stick around..
