this is just my experiance , I was clean 7 days did a couple percs a day or two in a row and the wd started all over . I have come to the conclusion I can never go back and really whats the point to take a pill for a day and be high for an hour . And plus your just bringing back the urges and cravings .

you may not w.d like you did before, because your tolerance has dropped, but you will still have w.d. If you don't give your body enough time to fully detox from opiates, when you stop and then put more opiates into your system, you will still go through w.d. But like I said, not as bad.

My advice, and please take it from someone who has been there, is to try to find a way to stop. It is hard enough for one addict to quit, but for two in the same household, its near impossible. Believe me, I have been there. Myself and my husband, well..he was my fiance at the time we started, were severly addicted to Oxy Contin. Our addiction started with percs, because I had a toothache. We both took one and it was downhill from here. Once on the weekends, turned into every weekend, then into every weeknight. And before I knew it, we were both eating like 30-40 percs each a day. I could not function without them. Then we were introduced to Oxy Contin. And that was around the time we were married. We were both so addicted that we could not get out of bed in the morning without taking at least 4-5 80's each. We were both eating about 10-12 80's a day. My husband literally fell asleep at the alter when we were married, because he was dipping out from the oxy's. I was mortified.

My point for telling you all this, is that in July of 06, 8 months after we were married, he overdosed. I woke up to his sister screaming at me that she could not wake her brother up. We were vacationing at our Shore house and he got up early to go get something to eat. When I woke to her screams, I instantly knew what happened, but I prayed all the way down the steps that I would be wrong. When I ran up to him, he was completely blue and stiff and freezing. That sight is locked in my mind and will be forever. I did everthing I could to save him. I called the paramedics and tried to start CPR myself, he was gone and already dead for 45 mins the dr.s said.

I am not at all saying this will happen to you, I am saying it could. I knew we needed to stop, and I knew one of us would end up dead at the rate we were going. But, we didn't care. Everytime we would try to quit, the wd. would be so bad that one of us always caved in. My husband was into real estate and did very well for us, we managed to spend every dollar we had on Oxy's. My house, which was once completely paid off, we have to re-finance to support out habit. In the end both he and i spent over 400,000 on Oxys. And after his death, I spent almost 100,000 myself.

My addiction has cost me my husband and both my parents. I would move heavan and earth to get him back. But I can't. Don't end up like me. Get yourself help then get him help. I am begging you please, don't end up like me....

I hope things work out for you...Good luck....

YES...IT IS!!!!!!  We ALL know that!  Maybe you should consider some sort of after care now...meetings (NA, AA, PA) or one on one therapy since you are already through the w/ds.  If you have to pop something, pop an Ibuprofen, a Tylenol, or h ell, even a vitamin.  You have a hard core mind game going on if you are through the w/ds as you say.  Good luck.

We have only been taking 1 Darvocet a day during withdrawls. How do you taper off that. Honestly I wouldnt have a problem taking one physically but mentally I feel like I have to pop SOMETHING.. Even if its a Naproxen or Motrin.. The W/D isnt hard the mental of it all is the torturing part !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flush it all is a must and start again!  Your withdrawal may not be quite as bad but that is different with everyone.  Next time you have chills GRAB A BLANKET NOT A DARVOCET! ;o)  You can do it!

Could keep u going in the wrong direction,..physically it may not be too hard on u...mentally it is a major set back for many to do this..everyone is different...Why do you continue to keep pills in your house if you goal is to be clean?

You will have some kind of w/d. It might be the same or less. The fact that you were still taking a narcotic when you came off the hydros and oxys means you will still w/d. Your body is used to having the narcotics. If I were you, I would completely taper off the darvocets since that is what both of ya'll were on when detoxing. Just go from there and then stop. I pray and I hope both of ya'lls w/d's stop! I am just giving advice, I am not a doctor. Do what feels right for you and your husband!
Good luck!

I know everyone is different but if it helps you any, I have done that pretty much exact same thing and i didnt start all the way over. You may have some discomfort because your body is used to having the Darv, Hydro and Oxy and if you dont give it anything at all it wont be happy, but I dont think it will be like starting all over 8 days ago, at least it wasnt for me.
Good Luck!!! Stay strong
