Witdrawals, how long they last.

How long after being on Hydrocone, and oxycontin does it take for them to get out of the system and how long do the muscle cramps and them being aggitated last?

Hi blahs, thanks for your comment on this forum. I am going on the 5th month of recovery. I find it very tough at times as for most the physical complications are pretty much gone, but its the mental part that clings especially after being addicted to opiates and benzo's for 23 years. There are bad habits or shall I say character defects that try to hang on, and its very helpful for aftercare to be the major part of my recovery now. I am so much better now, and still have a ways to go, but I am in for the long haul and very thankful for sites like this, everyone is great here,, god bless, mike in nc

tellit2her your post really helped me.  day 11 here and sure I feel better than day 1 but I feel tired and depressed today.  I was thinking...okay maybe this is what normal feels like and I just forgot what normal is all about.

I find it very encouraging to know that it will continue to get better.  Then again thinking I can undo the damage Ive done to my mind and body over the past few years can be undone in 11 days...not very realistic.

So Im hanging in...mental part is so hard right now but I want to feel like you do charetti, I want the color back in my life.

Yes 72 hours for the really hard part and then slowly creep up to healthy again. It was day 8 before I got some decent sleep.  The mental part is hard for most folks too. Thats the bad news.

The good news.  Life is so much clearer and amazing once you have gone through this. I laugh at sitcoms, I stay awake through meetings and movies, my libido is back, I am taking an interest in things outside of myself, and I like myself.

The good far outweighs the bad, just need some recovery time between the two.

Hi there, welcome fish and the answer to your question is that it takes 72 hours for the opiates to detox out of your system. And depending on your detox program or agenda that you have in place, it usually takes about 30 days to start feeling well and normal body functions to appear. Are you detoxing right now or are you still thinking about it? Just wanted to tell you that you came to the right place, and look throughout the forum and you will pick something up that you understand and like and there is a vast knowledge of recovering people that would love to give you some input. Look at drinking lots of water, hot showers, vitamins and minerals and get to a meeting of aa or na, it helps. God bless, mike in nc
