Thanks for your feedback, everyone. I'm going to start this NOW I'm craving another dose, but I'm going to try and resist. I don't want to go through my 40's in a haze like I did my 30's I really don't remember much at all and I can't believe I waited so long. There must be a drop of intelligence still in my brain. I just hope I don't trade off by doing something else(like bringing margaritas in a gatorade bottle to my psych app't) Not funny he knew it, I'm sure.
na and churc group meetings are great as is this site. but the bottom line is you gotta wan it more than you want anything in this world and then YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE TO GET CLEAN. it will not be easy but you can do it. and honestly getting clean will be much easier than stay ing clean. you have to make a choise and then stick to it. do you want to taper or go c/t. i could not taper, i didn't have the will power to do that. we are here if you need us but you have to take the first step. good luck to you.

NA meetings are a good thing...I started going before I quit....keep posting
Meetings would be an excellent way to start. Lots of support and information to help you.You ask how you can get clean. The answer is when your desire to get and stay clean is stronger than your desire to use and abuse. When you are thoroughly fed up, then you can quit. Otherwise it doesn't happen. You have to be more than 100% behind this decision.
Do not be scared, I am a clean cut as you out it mom of three and believe it or not there are lot more of us out there! Just look deep inside yourself and gather up the will power that its going to take and you can do it! This site is awesome and I have felt so optimistic reading all the post, it helps me feel so not alone. Stay on here you have found this iste for a reason just remeber you are not alone!
First, you have to want to stop, deep down, with all your heart.
Second, Depending on how many you are taking per day start tapering down or c/t
Third, post, post, post There are many wonderful people here that will help you.
If this doesn't work seek proffesional help, there is no shame, it's better to ask for help than to let it run you life.
Have you tried tapering down? You have been on them for a long time so try decreasing your dose.
First of all...addiction doesn't discriminate....second of all, whether you are clean cut, jailbird, thug, or "innocent" mom ....you are an ADDICT. Why would it matter who is at the church groups or NA? It is about you...not them. And maybe these "thugs" are now successful lawyers attending NA to stay clean. You just don't know. Addiction doesn't discriminate...and neither should we. You could gain a lot from church groups or NA. I am catholic and registered with a church group (and remember that catholic churches are S T R I C T....but never once did they discriminate...I remember seeing the pope a while back visiting the states and had a group of thug rappers perform for him....he stood up and started clapping his hands and waving his cane....the last pope..not the new one..anyhow, the point is...the people that want to help you....they don't care about status, preference, appearance.....they care about YOU. that's it.....good luck on your search to sobriety....you can do it..
