day one of no perks (again)

Hey guys. This is my first post i stumbled upon this sight last night threw a google search. I have been addicted to pain killers for 2 1/2 yrs now and im only 20 yrs old. I even have a 10 months old daughter and did percocets threw most of my pregnancy :( it makes me sad to say that but she is healthy as can be actually ahead of most children her age, walking talking smart strong and healthy. Anyhow, im here because i want my life back! I want to get back on track with my goals. I have NO money all my money goes to pills and i could have thousands saved at this point and im just so sick and tired of this whole lifestyle.  Worst of all my mothet has been a life long addict. Shes in long term treatment facility as we speek and dont congratulate her because its her yearly routine and she never sticks with it. And it scares the crap outta me to think i am just like her! She was a horrible mother to me and my sis and it makes me sick to my stomach to think i will be that to my daughte. Ive tried and suceeded only for a week or two at a time to get sober and always end up giving in to temptation because im sad and depressed about my life situation or i just want that nice happy feeling. For some reason i have lucked out and never had to endure serious withdrawals even when taking 150mg percocets per day. Just sleepless and irritable. I just need help with sticking with it i need support because no one knows i do this. And im hoping this site will provide that for me :/ .. thanks guys

hello and welcome. you can do this. the key to long term success and continuing on the recovery road is to work a program. it is a marathon not a sprint. getting involved in a support group such as na/aa,celebrate recovery, smart recovery and/or counseling with a therapist, an addiction counselor. this forum is here to help support and encourage you.
take control of your life, dont let the pills control you any longer. you got this. keep the faith, believe in yourself. ask a higher power to help you.
sending hope,hugs,encouragement and prayers

You need to get rid of that bottle!! You MUST! i want you to succeed and i have faith in you but you must not underestimate the power of your inner addict. She will coerce and trick and make you feel ok about putting that devil drug back inside you. And if its there staring you in the face its almost impossible to resist.  Rome wasnt built in a day and your right about that! This is going to be an ongoing struggle for both of us ( for ALL ) of us for a very long time. But if rome kept getting knocked down every time they made SOME progress, it would never have been made! So make this time the last time you let that addict knock your rome down! Start building your life for a life full of happiness contentment and sobriety! And thank you sooo much for the feedback :) i means alot to me :) and im here for you girly!

We are all here to help each other. Im an addict also. Some says I get by on 60 mg Norco, some days its 120 mg. We are all in the same boat & I wish you all the luck in the world. I'm on day one now (almost day 2) and I'm ashamed to admit I would gladly take some right now. I'm fighting it tho, I am out of pills but DO have a bottle of hydrocodone liquid cough syrup that I havnt touched...yet. pray I make it thru the night without drinking that bottle down like a woman dying of thirst... stay strong sister! I'm in it to win it, eventually!! Rome wasn't built in a day after all =)
