I have a friend who has 40 2mg xanax.  He has recently divorced and is very very down on himself.  What will these 40 xanax do to him if he takes them all at once?

I know someone who took 60 xanax and they were fine the next day.  I guess she was just lucky.  Don't let anyone do it.  They might not be so lucky.

Frank is right. Your friend has a lethal dose on his hands, especially if he mixes it with anything.

Has he spoken to you of any suicidal feelings? I second everything Frank said, and urge you to talk to your friend, and help get him some help from a caring professional who can help him through this painful transition.

They will kill him. Please get to him, talk to him and help him. If possible remove most if not all of the Xanax. Find options, quickly in your community to help him. He needs a mental status exam to determine if he has suicidal ideation. You can help. Do it now.
