Chonic...Can you drop the "Mafia Vic" on the open forum, please?
Oh...I try never to answer as a nurse...I am an addict and that's the perspective I attempt to employ on the forum. When I don't know about a drug or particular situation,
I research it. I'm always learning...
How much are you taking? Are you on any other meds?
Thanks Mafia Vic. It is always nice to have another nurse to back you up when your not sure about a med. :)
Hi~ This is one of the milder pain killers but that does not diminish the seriousness of the addiction potential. It's very toxic to your liver and kidneys.
Your dosage and length of use will determine the severity of the withdrawals. It's important to eliminate any pills you have now and get in touch with your doctor. No more prescriptions!
Please read the "health pages" the forum has provided. There is some very good information there and it's important to educate yourself about addiction and recovery.
Best of luck to you~
think it is similar to codeine but it can still be very addictive and I am not familiar with your dosage and WD from your dosage You should call your doctor to tell him you are coming off this medication to prevent severe WD symtoms. maybe someone else on post is more familiar with this drug?
Is that Darvocet? How long and how much do you take? is it a RX from your doctor? If you do have a doctor I would talk to him about coming off the medication because he may have some helpful hints so you can do this safely. I know it is a narcotic analgesic painkiller and if you stop suddenly you will feel bad and have nausea and vomiting. But not too sure about safety of WD.
