Others have noted that if you were on methadone, then the wait is longer to make sure its out of the system, but some have said that oxyc clears faster and I agree, if you can make it 4 days you're gonna be thru the worst part. Some doctors do an assessment of what kind of w/d you're in, (nausea, hands shaking, etc) and will rate you on a scale of all the symthoms you have. It also may be decided on how bad your addiction was, how many you were taking and so on. If the dr does decide to give them to you, yes, the best plan would be for short term, taking the smallest dose possible to make you feel better and then tapering down. Even a shaving off the pill will have an effect. If you have to go those 4 days because you're out of pills and the dr cant see you before, then i'd just see how you feel before taking something else you'll eventually have to withdraw from. good luck to you, pray for strengh, you're headed in the right direction.
Hun, if you can go 4 days, then you are half-way home.
Suboxone is a wonderful tool for detoxing and getting your life together. Some use it short term, and some use it long term. If using it short term..then get on and get off. If using it long term, then make absolutely certain that you have a plan set up to get counseling, etc. Use the time to get your life together.
So, if you were going to go short term, then 4 days into withdrawal, it makes no sense.
Yeah did they tell you to be off for 4 days or are you just out of pills ? I was only 18 hours into withdrawal.
I haven't heard of anyone being turned away. I think being an addict makes you a good canidate. I am on Sub now. Let me know how it goes. Mary
I am not sure, but I think that if you are that far into w/ds it may not work for you. There are others with more experience that will chime in too.
