Serotonin Toxcity?

Hi, about 5 days ago I decided to take at total of 60mg's one 30mg at 9 in the morning and another at 5 in the evening, of Adderall XR along with 75mg of Effexor XR. I was prescribed the Effexor. About 5 minutes after I took my second capsule of Adderall I started feeling really weird, I thought I was losing my mind. My mind was racing with thoughts, I couldn't concentrate, Muscle spasm's, and fast heart-rate. It feels like everything is going very fast. I couldn't watch TV because I had no idea what they were talking about. The next day I took no more adderall, and still experienced the same symptoms, so the day after that I decided to stop taking my Effexor as well, fearing possible Serotonin toxicity. Its been a little over 72 hours without the effexor and I cant see any relief of symptoms with the mental side of things. I no longer have the muscle spasms and fast hart rate but my mind still seems in a fog. What could this be caused by??
It seems like im able to comprehend whats going on with TV a little better, but maybe im just getting used to this? Im fearing any permanent damage.

I was on effexor about 2.5 years ago, I tapered slowly and was shocked at the wd associated with meds of that nature - I had no idea.  I do not like effexor or any other antdepressant, for the most part they cause more than they cure.
Best of luck,,,there are some natural remedies in my journal if you are still having it rough.

As you know, there is such a thing as Serotonin toxicity, and as mentioned above  Adderall can cause these s/s too.  Adderall can cause frank psychosis.  Not a good med to be messing with at all, unless you are a narcoleptic or something similar.  Effexor has some absolutely wicked side effects and some are quite dangerous.  Do not smoke on this med.  Alone, it is associated with sustained increased BP, which may be some of your "head" symptoms.  There are tons of s/e with this med., and while there are with all drugs, this one can be tricky to manage.  A good medical eval. is the right thing to do here, do not stop the meds. yourself though, make sure you see your doc.

ummm i dont know about this one.  you may need to have your doctor check you out.  72 hours is more than enough time to get passed that.  good luck..more folks will chime in i am sure.

Have you taken adderall in the past?
I am so sorry....that sounds terrifying. The fast heart rate is typical from adderall as is the mind racing...Could it be the amount you took?
Perhaps someone will respond with more info than I have been able to offer.
Please do be careful about mixing medication...That can be so dangerous.
Try to think positive and get some rest...in the future - remember the way you feel now -  You have your entire life ahead of you to enjoy...to make the most of,,,,please do that.
