clonodine

Okay...so my back doc put me on a one month supply of colodine..1 at night. ..how hard will that be to kick? But...I think it might be good cause I think it will help lower my BP and I have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD...but he was very proud I decided to do this...and he feels like an a*hole for keeping me on so long...I told him it was my fault for coming back! I hope to get some relief!

Im glad you made it to the dr and it sounds like you guys had a good visit!!! I had the clonidine for the first 6 days, and it did help, but you do have to be careful with it...it makes you pretty sleepy and one time I forgot I already took one and took another and I felt like I was going to pass out. After that I got a little notebook and wrote down everything I took and at what time because my mind was too foggy to keep up. I ran out after 6 days and thought I still needed it but couldnt get anymore and Im on day 9 now and feel fine without it. And Im glad to hear your back pain is gone! I originally got on these for female problems, endometriosis fibroids cysts all kinds of good stuff and Im finding it does still hurt but not as much as I thought it did? Hopefully it all gets better from here for us all. Keep up the good work because its one day closer to health and that lady (you!) going to Russia ;)

I hear ya.  The pills trick us and make us think the pain is worse than it is.  I think its called rebound pain, where our brain is doing whatever it can to make us take more drugs.  And good doctor's are few and far between, but even though i own abusing the pills and i know i did it to myself, i kinda wonder how come the doctors who are educated on how addictive those damn pills are don't monitor their patients better.  Very happy for you!

Thanks for words of support! My doctor and I have a great relationship and he was proud that I made this decision...then, he said he felt like a huge a@hole for keeping me on those pills, but it was me who called in refills, and the weird thing is, my back pain is gone...??

Hey Nikki...I was on lortabs 7.5 for about 11 years for a back injury. He was shocked I decided to do this on my own...and its like the mental part has gone too....where I thought about em all the time..I don't feel that anymore! And I really hope it helps my BP! Kill 2 birds with one stone..

Can u refresh my memory as to what y are trying to come off of?  I'm jealous.  My doc said they only rx clonodine in extreme cases and I guess mine is not one of them.  Although I do have 3 patches coming from a friend.  I can't believe she told me that I didn't need it let alone that I wouldn't withdraw from roxy since they gave a short half life!?  What!?!?

The clonidine will help lower your B/P and it does cause drowsiness so that may help. It's a B/P med and it's not addicting.  Good for you for going to see the doctor!!
