i"ve been taking vicodine and percocet and i"m 20 weeks pregnant can my beby be born with any mental retardation issues or any brain damage i had 5 ultrasounds and my ob says everything looks okay so should i have any concerns

If you are still on them get off if you can ....I have custody of my newphew His mother was and still is a big drug addit....He is disabled (Mental Retarted)....Thats his disablity...He is a wonderful child wasnt to live past 5 he is now 15 ...He hates his mother because of her drug addition and she doesnt care...Good Luck hun

why are you taking them?  Do you need them?  And does your OB know that you are on them?

Not sure about brain damage; that's a hot topic that has been debated many times, especially concerning longterm effects.  But I do know that if you continue using during your pregnancy, then your baby will go thru WD when he/she is born.

Does your ob know you are taking these?  If not you need to discuss this with her.
