day 20....freaking out more than ever..

Ive decided to start a new thread from the advice of my family here....as the consequences of my actions take a firm hold. i want to escape more than ever. before my love of hydro came in the picture, i had a great love of grapes...the wine varital. i know that taking that first sip would numb my anxiety maybe for a few hours...but im scared of falling in another hole. my stress is at an all time high. my heart has probably aged 10 years the last 20 days. I absolutely cant get a grasp im moving in 5 days..im so weak and tired physically and even weaker emotionally. i have no one to confide in...and its driving me crazy. ive grown dependant on everyone here for daily encouragement...iam proud that ive made it thru the worst of detox....its the emotional aftermath of life that i wasnt prepared for. please pray for me, today i will pack my first box. :'( i need the strength that i dont have to kick myself in the *** and do this. I love you guys so much. <3

i was just thinking about you.
just take one day at a time.  when your life calms down try to get to some meetings or at the very least an addition counselor.

just like being here helps because you are surrounded by people who understand and can talk about it, meetings let you physically meet people who you can pick up that phone and call.  they would probably also help you move.  very kind, loving people

Take it one step at a time. I think the aftercare is so vital because it can help you get past the known things that can potentially push you back to your old habits. For me, at this point I just want to talk to someone who understands what I'm going through. Maybe you need this too or maybe you need some face to face time with someone who can help you. PM if you just want to talk :)
Be strong!

I was just gonna write: Go to a meeting! Everyone above already said it. AA or NA, just go, girl. I would be completely insane (and using) w/o them.

Will you take the advice of those who've come before?

Hi...well I often say the only wrong way to do this is trying to do it alone keep in mind the detox and ensuing aftermath is normal for a addict this is 1/3 physical and 2/3 mental so know that your detoxed the mental part will try to bring you down the only thing that will get you threw this is after care I have tryed most of them  my pastor at church a substance abuse counselor even a shrink...it was not until I hit N/A that growth started in my life when your down and out this is where you need to be you will be welcome with a hug...the meetings are a hour long you will be able to share when your ready to but at the meeting you will see your not the only one that thinks that way I have made a lot of real friend threw the program we go out and have coffee after the meetings there are lots of activity my favorite is the speaker meeting and dance afterwords I have been tubing down the salt river it a big thing around phx and as much as my family supports me when I try to share I get that''deer in the headlight stare'' you will never get that at a n/a meeting this is the best program I have found and it works if you work it it is also free google N/A meeting in your area and get to a meeting trust me this will help....................................Gnarly................................

Honey, IBK is right. If you can try to get yourself to a meeting, it will surely help. There you will find people who are similar to you. You will be able to confide in people. You will get support and courage and confidence and strength to move forward. Please consider it.  It would Definately be worth your time.

As far as moving. Take things one step at a time. Breathe deeply. Make a list, and cross items off as you accomplish them. I know how difficult moving is. I'd much rather have my wisdom teeth pulled, and a Pap smear all at the same time.  You can do this. You have come this far and done amazing. Keep moving forward. Again, this is a new start, a new beginning to your clean and sober life.  Yes, stay away from the wine. Let your body and soul heal. Take care, keep posting.

You got this.  there are always consequences to our actions.  some more severe than others.  you dodged a bullet and if i were you i would be thanking God everyday that you have your freedom, your kids and your health.

I feel for you.  I hate moving, but with all the stress you have been through these past few weeks has to feel like carrying an elephant on your back.
you will look back on this 5 yrs from now wondering how you got through it.

you are smart to avoid the wine.  you brain would gladly switch to an alcohol dependency right now because it has not healed yet.  cross addiction is very quick, sly and cunning.  you don't need any more obstacles in your way right now.

been praying for you and will continue to do so

This is the exact reason why aftercare is recommended. Are you willing to give it a try?
