Hi Tiffany and welcome ! As far as the Panic is concerned I have to say that and the anxiety was for me the worse part of stopping Vicodin for me . I can tell you that one day soon you will wake up and it will be gone and replaced with the life you once knew ! please hang on and stay here as there are countless numbers of caring people here for you ...Take care Jimmy
Pills give us a false sense of security. Give yourself some time(theres that word again). You wont be a couch potato. The more you get up and move the quicker your natural endorphins will start to work again. The pills made them very very lazy. I agree with IBK, see your doctor and get a good physical. Keep moving forward~~~~~sara
HI THERE, I.read your profile and you must be an incredibly strong person having had to deal with all that, especially if what doesn't kill you-makes you stronger. DAY 6 WOW- that's great don't stop now-you're almost past the worst. I am trying to "be myself again"(day 10) too. Drink lots of water. HOT soaks. Make sure you eat something-BODY needs food for energy. Vitamins ans B complex. You can do it and you will feel better soon. The great people on this site are always here to help. You are not alone!
TEENA
i know its hard to believe but your energy does come back, and its a lot better than on the pills, im on day 74, i know its hard to be patient, but you will get there, god bless, sudie
You will get better. Yes, it takes some time but you have come so far. You WILL have the energy and the drive. I just passed Day 30 of being clean. I was on and off pain killers for 8 years, steady the last 4, due to a shot ankle,. I had surgery in January. I went CT on the Vicodin and weaned off the Dilaudid the surgeon prescribed. It took about 2 and half weeks before I really started feeling better and and now I feel great. It will come.
Just remember, if you revert back to the pill, you have these 6 days to go through again. Do you want that? Each day, each minute, is one that you don't have to go through.
There are some tricks, Exercise is very benficial, and try to eat as much fresh fruit and veggies as you can. I was a "V-8 Juice Junkie" during my withdrawals. Night time is tha hardest, but I found that if I kept the light on by the bed, and some tokens of The Good LIfe (pictures of loved ones, souvenirs of your favorite vacation spot, brochres of Expensive Toys that you want to buy someday, whatever) to keep your mind occupied, that helps. The olkd standby of a glass of warm milk really helps, as there is some sort of chemical reaction in milk after it is warmed that actually does indeed make you drowsy. Even a glass of cold moo juice helps.
You should be nearing the peak, if not already passed it, of the physical symptoms and returning to work would help.
But above all, please know we are all pulling for you and we've done it, or are doing it, and it does get better. Much better. Soon you will realize that the vicodin was only mking you FEEL like you had energy when it fact it was affecting your relations, your memory, your spirit. Hang in there and you will get YOU back again.
the Fish
Congrats on Day 6. that is awesome!!
You are going to learn to hate the word time but that is what you need. We spend years abusing our minds, our bodies and our spirit. You need time to heal.
A good vitamin regiment will help you and other members will come along and suggest what they used.
If you able, money wise, I suggest that you get a good check-up complete with blood work. It is always a good idea to rule out any other problems that may have developed and were ignored while using. Also, your doctor can help you with some suggestions on how to get yourself to a healthy place.
Exercise is great and it gets those endorphins pumping so keep that up. Even if you can take a few short walks during the day---it will make a difference.
Be good to yourself, hang in there and don't use.
