Day 8** My FIRST TEST!! MOM BROUGHT ME A BAG OF PAIN MEDS!!

OMG!! So, today is day 8 clean. My mom and dad stop by, we are watching their dog while they go on vacation. Mom says as she is leaving, "oh I threw some pain meds i found in that bag there for you". They know I have back issues, no insurance but have NO IDEA I became addicted!
Pulled out a zip lock bag FULL of pain meds..... My heart was racing....Heaven or Hell??? THANK GOD I CHOSE HEAVEN!! Called my husband in from outside and my daughter from her room...showed them the bag...both their eyes got as big as coconuts!! We went in the bathroom and I FLUSHED THE ENTIRE BAG DOWN THE TOILET!!! We even laughed because they stuck to the side and took 3 times to go down!! My daughter said, geez mom, imagine what they do to your stomach!!!
Wow, that was a close one!!! I AM STRONG AND AMAZING! LOL

WOW!!!!! I read that this morning and I would have had a hard time doing that. Even as much as I want this, I don't know if given that temptation I could have made the same decision, I hope I would!!!  I am very proud of you and you made a great choice. Have a great day!!

WOW!  I am in awe!  That would have been hard for me to do... it's hard enough after 58 hours to not call a supplier and end this!  Kudos and a standing ovation to you!!!!   :)

Way to go !!  that was a test ;) and you passed..Ive flushed meds before that dont get you high and i know they stick to the toilet lol... day one been rough ..very emotional ..but we mustard up the energy to go out to eat.. feel ok physically but r scared to death of 3 and 4 etc....from what we have read thats when it gets bad..we have never made it past that part ,always got hooked up. one day at a time..we had three suppliers call us today and told them were done..

CODOS TO YOU  and congrats for getting rid of them im 16 mo clean and would struggle with that your off to a great start have you looked into aftercare yet??? it will help when your having one of those days when your not so strong and also help you with the mental midscrew that hits most of us a little farther into sobriety....im happy to here you dident use....this is a classic example of how our secrets keep us sick.....if your parents new thay would have never brought them by the house.....eventually you'll get comfortable in your recovery to not be a shamed to tell those that love you about your addiction....thatk God you where strong today so pad yourself on the back good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
