I took two tabs of ephedrine hcl yesterday with 200mg of caffiene
last night while i was trying to go to sleep i had what i think could be a seizure, it felt like i was going to die, my heart was racing, i began to have tremors, sweats, and a strange taste in my mouth, in the back of my head i felt a burning sensation, this lasted most of the night, i'm still scared.

ephederine is a perfectly fine drug when used wisely. i use it as an upper...4 per game and i have done it for the bettrer part of 2 years. no problems yet

I brushed this off cuz I knew I loved food and I really did not take these pills to lose weight anymore, I just NEEDED them to get through the day, Gave me super energy. WELL I finally started to look in the mirror and not like the appearence of my self I had Dark circles under my eyes, Skin tone was dull, My veins in my arms always stuck out, My arms looked like a mans!! I also had begun to have attacks during the night where my heart would POUND and I felt as if I was having a heart attack, but I continued to take my herbal Energy Booster/ diet pills, and decided to remedy my night time attacks with TYLENOL PM! this helped me to sleep and the attackes Ceased for a while, but came back, I want to warn everyone about these herbal diet remedies, Metabolift, as well as Metabolife, Ripped fuel, any herbal product which combines an epederine,and Caffeine are bad News... I got off these only after I went tosee my DR and my blood Pressure was outrageously high, I told him about my (HERBS) I take, and how long I had taken them, I went through Stress tests , EKG, Heart echo to find I had minimal damage to my heart, I was lucky, I quit taking these and the first 6 or 7 days I felt like I had no energy and layed around quite a bit. I also woke up every morning with My FACE SWELLED UP so badly that my eyes had swelled shut, throughout the day it would go down somewhat, but the next morning the same thing, that lasted nearly a week and is due to the Fact that these pills are a natural Diuretic also , My body was not used to being able to retain any fluid after 2 years of everyday use, so after laying down all night the fluid collected in my face, that was the reason my skin was so sallow and my eyes always had dark circles while taking these,  My body and skin and everything was pretty much fluid starved.  To everyone that takes these or is thinking about it, Please think twice.. I am now 130 lbs have no trouble mintaining my weight without them and my skin looks much better, I feel good, I am very lucky I did not kill myself taking these supposed SAFE Dietery Supplements...   A Freind

Ephedrine can be very dangerous. Because it's sold over the counter for hay fever and weight loss many people underestimate it's hazards. Also known as ephedra ( as in ephedra tea ) and mah wong ( the chinese name) it's an herb that causes heart palpitations, rise in blood pressure,headsches, sweating, jitteriness, and often irritable, irrational and agressive behavior. It's a broncho dilator and also the main active ingredient in metabolife or similar weight loss formulas that don't really raise the metabolic rate... they just make you jittery and more active so you may cut down on eating if your're too revved up. It's basically "herbal speed". If you see here how bad it can be with coffee then you must really be careful if you are on any prescription drugs. With psychiatric drugs such as lithium it can be DEADLY.

You took a drug that is an upper and added another upper, caffiene with it. Your heart was probably going through tachycardia for much of the night from too much stimulation. You are lucky you did not have a heart attack. Many people die from heart attacks caused by tachycardia, which if lasting too long puts too much strain on the heart. You had better be careful playing with drugs or you just may kill yourself.

I doubt you had a seizure, because if you did and remained conscious through it you probably would have found it severely painful from the muscle cramping that would go along with the convulsions.

Amphetamines(spelling?), such as you took cause shaking and tremors. Even too much coffee by itself can cause tremors and shaking.

I hope you decide to see a dcotor if you are having a fatigue problem and need a lift. Self medicating for health problems can be deadly!
