it took me 2 years to win back my family, imagine having to win back your own childs trust, do it while your young
Although all addicts are basically the same in kind, we do,
as individuals, differ in degree of sickness and rate of recovery.
There may be times when a relapse lays the groundwork for
complete freedom. At other times that freedom can only be
achieved by a grim and obstinate willfulness to hang on to
abstinence come hell or high water until a crisis passes. An
addict, who by any means can lose, even for a time, the need or
desire to use, and has free choice over impulsive thinking and
compulsive action, has reached a turning point that may be the
decisive factor in his recovery. The feeling of true independence
and freedom hangs here at times in the balance
hey...i know how you feel but to play devils advocate their response is out of love and concern.... i know it *****, but they are trying to protect you. are you feeling ok because your typing is a little all over the place- not calling you out or anything just concerned that you are okay.(going along with the theme of things haha). well take care. relapse is a part of recovery. im not justifying it but it happens to most all addicts. ask yourself a question though- WHY did you take the xanax? get to the root of your addiction through support or counselling- someone outside of your family since they make you feel up in arms when you are honest. use this forum if it helps you know? good luck to you and just remember, your family loves you and they dont want to see you in harms way... good luck to you.
