for those browsing and wondering.

Hey all, I wanted to post to try and encourage everyone browsing wondering if they should/could take their life back. Ill give a brief description of what I was on: 3 scripts, 2 Drs a month 6+ years. 60 8mg dilaudid, 180 10mg methadone and 270 5mg oxy untill I ran out and was buying off the street. I stopped the dilaudid and oxys and tappered my methadone to 20mgs then jumped. Looking back the fear of stopping is so far worse then the actuall wd's. The physical symptoms are flu like including aches and pains but that all passes within a few days. I struggle more with the mental game. Anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, lethargy. Lack of sleep is also a tough one, maybe the toughest. Sneezing, yawning, teary eyes are all normal wd symptoms. Im still sneezing 5x in a row. Im at day 31 and compared to my time using 31 days isnt much, but if you wouldve asked me 6 months ago if I could be clean for 31 days the answer wouldve been HEWWWLLLL NAHHHHH! Here I am tho and everyone out there can do it also. Dont expect it to be easy. Its not. The biggest factor in all of this is TIME. A word youll grow to hate, but with the proper vitamins, excersize and lots of water...lotssss of water :-) this CAN be done. If youre reading thru the posts let everything sink in. There are people here that are truly heaven sent and at times it seems there sent just for you. So please decide that the time is now and flush whatever it is thats controlling your life. Hope this finds you well.

Noone has to be a prisoner to the pills or drink.  We hold the key that unlocks those chains and it is up to us to stick that key in and turn.

Thanks guys....yes I feel good. And will be around more often now that summer is winding down. Been on the road too long. It is nice to be working close to home. If I can offer some encouragement to someone, or some halfway decent advice, I'll be glad to do so. Peace

Great post. I never thought I would be free of pills. I was a repeat failure at sobriety. I am now over 200 days clean. It can be done. It just takes the honest desire to quit. I don't think I was honest about it until this last time. If I can do it....anyone out there, who is wondering if they have the strength, can do it also. Was it easy? No....But it was well worth it. God bless and peace.

There are a few on the forum now who would benefit by reading your post. 31 days clean - and so much garbage to detox from. Amazing.
Addiction is something that we can never take casually. It is relentless, and so we must also be relentless in our recovery.
Thank you so much for posting. Now on to 31 months clean!

Great post Livyspop, love your attitude my friend. If only I had known I held the key all along I would have turned it years ago Sarah, I can sit comfortable in my own skin again, 3 months in and feeling great again. Everything is so possible with a little strength of mind and determination, its your life peeps, go get it back you all deserve it!
