getting touretts as a adults

hi  i am a recoveing addict drugs and booze i havent drack in 14 years and no drugs in 1 and a half years i have sever depprsin and anzity (sorry for spelling i am dislexic to) any ways my new docs says i have touretts i never herd of some getting it in there late thirtys i think its from all those drugs i took or a side effect from you sever anzity. it totaly mimics touretts but i thaught you had to have it when your young and then it (most of the time goes away or minamizes when you get older??i know im not given enough info but can someone that knows about tourttes help or anyinfo needed. i yarn alot when i get nerves and my body joilts when i sit in one spot or lay down to sleep my hole body will fly up in the air (like when your dreaming your falling and your about to crash and you joilt up out of a sleep well i do that totaly awke??? please help

im on methadone i hate i i want offbut right nowits better that going to the steets i have such bad depetioni pick it up way to easly i have in voluntary profanity but it more like i start feeling presure in my chest and my mind gets speeding and i strat yawning and then comes the f###" words
the jolts happen when i am sitting at the computer and when i lay down.
i have three boulging dics 3 in my lower and one in my upper with miner nevre loss. have to find out what is what its driving me crazy and more depressed.

I wondered about parkinsons and other illness being caused by drug abuse,It makes alot of sense.Ruthie

You need to see a neurologist for diagnosis, tourettes also involves involuntary profanity! You could have restless leg syndrome, does this affect you while sitting up in a chair, It also could be the early stages of Parkinson's decease like Michale J Fox. How old are you? Are you on any meds? Try the ask a doctor forum

I also have those same jerking movements especially when sitting still or sleeping but it's not tourettes.  It didn't really start for me until I started on suboxone.  Are you on that?   So it's obviously due to the opiates in it.  I've many many many other people with this same issue.  It feels like a lightning bolt jumps through you body and you physically jump into the air.  It's kinda like the normal jumps that everyone gets sometimes when they are falling asleep but these are much worse and happen all the time.  I think your new doc just doesn't know enough about how drugs impact the brain.  I really don't think you have tourettes!
