help with methadone

my girlfriend was giving two 10 mg methadone lastnight for her headache. the person told her it was a mild painkiller. she took one and brought the other one home and i searched the numbers on it and found out what it really was. well she is extremly wasted now . she falls asleep of and on and can not stand on her own. what i really need to know is how long will this last?? does this sound like normal effects of the drug?

I'm so glad to hear she is alright.The fact is with methadone especially,one persons dose can be another persons death.Methadone is extremely strong,especially to someone who isn't an addict and doesn't have their tolerance built up.Please stress to her to NEVER take anything someone gives to her.You just never know.Again so happy to hear shes ok and I hope you get some much needed rest.Sweet dreams....peace...Kim

hey thanks everyone! she seems to be doing fine now. she still cant walk very far without me holding her up but she is alot more "aware" now. and so far it doesn't seem like something she likes so i don't think we'll have to worry to much about her looking for more. i had videod a little bit of her lastnight so she could see just how bad it had messed with her and i can see that alone scared her. i can't believe they precribe this to people.... but thanks again so much ! i am so happy i found this site. well i think my 36 or so hrs of sleeplessness can finaly be over . thanks Mike

Hi ur girlfriend is lucky 2 have u looking after he .She should be fine 24 hrs and the dome should be coming out of her system..I was given methadone 4 period pain b4 i started using opiates and i had it in liquid form i had 1 table spoon i was asleep for 2 days straight... My problem when i came too i liked it and went searching 4 it again... Hope she don't like d comatising feeling... good luck she,ll be fine let us know how she is.. thanx vix...

10 mgs shouldnt bother her like they say within 24 hrs be fine!!

Thank you. and no she's not a addict. i have never been around methadone so i didn't know if all this was normal or what. and i have already flushed the other one. thank you for replying and for your prayers!

if you are that worried, seek medical help or call a doctor. unless she is having an allergic reaction though, i think she will be fine about 24 hours after ingestion. keep an eye on her and flush the other one down the toilet. please let me know the outcome. there's alot of people on this site with alot of experience in matters like this. i pray she will be fine.

It will last 24 hours she will be fine she is not an addict right. If she is she will wont more but will not withdrawl from that. I jumped of one year of 80 mg dos daily.I was sick for 2 mounths
