heroin or opiate pills?

im clean from heroin for a while now, but im on methadone, and although it does tame the urges very much i s\ i was feeling whne i first went on it, so im having the urges lately, and the dreams, the whole 9. was never familiar with doing the pills, but my mind is telling me that taking vikes or codeine or whatever opiate pill is not as bad as doing the actuall heroin, is this true? any advice?

Hi I'm an ex heroin addict How long have you been away from it? I can tell you first hand the cravings thoughts dreams or how ever we want to put them stick with you for awhile, it's the mental game I went ct took a few times but I made it I can't tell you how long I had thought about it but I know it was long enough to make a solid memory.You really don't want to go the pill route to fill the void, believe me you would be addicted before you were even able to swallow them, and they would never be enough I have never found a pill that did for me what heroin did, all you would be doing is taking more and more looking for that same high you will not find it. I slammed so the rush was what I always tried to simulate. We have to remember how fu&%$d up that life was how sick you would get when you could not get your next fix how every-body and thing important to you did not matter, How freakin awful we looked!!! Please don't make the same mistake I did jumping from one to the other it just leads to a more fuc$%d up life. What a waste.I know nothing of methadone so you might want to post in the morning where you would get a lot more advice on that. It sounds to me like you need to up your dose if you choose to go the methodone route.If you stay on the methodone the pills won't do you any good if your wanting to feel that euphoric feeling. Methodone is an opiate blocker. It is certainly your choice on how to detox,but speaking from experience methodone isn't the best route to take. You should really look into suboxone . The withdrawl from methodone is horrible and long lasting.My advice to you is to talk to your doctor about the suboxone.If you stay on the methodone eventually you are going to have to get off of it and go through a hellish prolonged detox,or become dependent on it forever.If indeed you are trying to get clean I really urge you to take another route and stay clear of the methodone. if you are craving the drug you might want to consider talking to the dr that has you on methadone since you might need to increase your dose. Are you thinking about getting off the methadone? do you want to stop the drug use? Have you looked in to suboxone? and then if you can get off of everything than there is naloxone that helps with detering the cravings?? so what is it that you want to know but yes the pills are bad as bad as heroine I dought it but then agian it is not the same high either it just might drive right back looking for that high and then your back at square one so it is your choice. but ask yourself do you really want to be on the drugs for ever it is hard choice and it is yours to make hope you have a great night
