Yeah, you know what, they have a really nice Epsom salt package with eucalyptus, at the 99 cents stores it smells yummy and feels really nice
How did it work out for you?
Hi Ready, you are doing great! Stay focused and keep moving forward. One thing that may help with the anxiety and restlessness, is some mild exercise. Take some walks outside if possible. This really helped me. Also, Epsom Salt baths feel amazing, and will help as well. Best wishes! Keep posting for support.
Well I made it through the day, it wasn't so bad. Once I got in and got settled it was actually a nice distraction from my own thoughts having someone to explain everything to and having them ask me questions throughout the day. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement! So happy I was able to taper down to 1 30mg pill every 24 hours sometimes I even waited longer between taking them, I think it helped make this a lot milder, I have pains in my guts and my legs are restless. Anxiety comes and goes, but just gonna keep on pushing through because I need to get thru this. I want a better life for both I and my husband. He is my rock and is holding up a lot better than I am at some points. Thanks again.
You can do it.just realized like they've been saying on here it was a choice you made and this is a choice as well. The difference is this choice is going to make your life what it used to be before opiates came along. I'm only one day in myself from a 90 milligrams a day habit down to 30 today.I'm right here with you. I'm losing my job on the 11th so at least you have a job to go to. Be strong and remember that this is a mindset, and not as physical besides the runs, as your head is going to want you to think. Let that sink in for a minute. Your head is going to want you to be miserable. Don't let it! Keep telling yourself how good this is for you! Re read the post above from the couple that quit last March. Excuse me March 2012. You will be that couple interior 3 weeks. Damn voice recognition! You will be that couple in 2 or 3 weeks! Be strong!
Benadryl is the best medicine that you can have for anxiety I take about 3 Benadryl when I have anxiety and panick attacks, It makes you sleepy but way better than taking benzos our anything else to withdrawal.
you can do this just do what others suggested drink lots of water eat clean do the thomas recipe I've heard it helps a lot to sooth the withdrawals you got this you want it real bad right? just keep thinking what is on the other side a wonderful sober life!!!
I made it through yesterday, and now on to the next. My anxiety is thru the roof today as I was about to leave work yesterday I was told I would be training someone on my job for the next few weeks, so now I will have someone sitting with me while going thru this, I almost broke down when they told me this. I am barely hanging on here, please tell me I can do this because it's feeling more and more like I can't. I will keep praying for strength, please God let me make it through the day.
I was on oxy 30s and morphine after battling cancer and 2 bad car wrecks and I just want u to know there is hope. For everybody treatment is different. I tried quitting and goin to na. That didn't work. Then I tried suboxone treatment, didn't work either. Then I went to the methadone clinic were I'm on a very low dose and go to counseling,a psycologist and NA, now I have almost 13 months clean. U have to do do what u think is right for u. If u have medicade or insurance it will usally pay for it. Prayers sent to you.
it took us a relocation, and some stumbles (alcohol , marijuana, ) but we finally realized that if we didn't want to be back on the opiates we neede to work an honest recovery program, i am in treatment court, go to self help meetings aftercare and aa, na, and my wife chose to go to counseling one on one, sometimes attends aa w/me.
it think the biggest thing for me was to realize it takes a complete change in thinking, and perception of things, focusing on what i am grateful for instead of being in the cycle of self pity. also realizing i chose to live the life i lived and there are unwanted consequences with living as a slave to drugs and alcohol, it affected every part of my life negatively.
I have never felt better in my life than i do now, and my wife has expressed the same. I hope you and your husband do it because it is well worth it.
Thank you for getting back to me so quick, I have a few things from the Thomas recipe I can use, plus some magnesium supplements cause I read somewhere that magnesium helps with the muscle aches. I keep praying for God to give both me and my husband strength to get through the day. Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it.
Onthefence,
Once you got through the withdrawals, what did you and your wife do to stay sober? Did you do any type of aftercare? Just curious, I really want this time to be it. I am tired and so disappointed in myself..
it is doable, my wife and i did it together, and haven't taken any since march 2012.
30 mg. a day is not a huge habit, you may be able to work.Keep yourself busy, try to eat , and hydrate.
Hi there
Many of our members have worked through withdrawals. Make sure you pick up some Imodium and take it liberally. Drink plenty of fluids and eat some light foods as you can. You may only feel like soup, crackers, bananas, rice etc. Staying hydrated is really important.

When you get home from work, soak in a nice hot tub to relax you. You may have trouble sleeping so sleep when you can and just realize that it will get better.
Post here with your symptoms and we can help with other tips.
Best of luck and you will do this.
