I have decided to try to wean myself off starting tomorrow. I am so scared and i dont know if i can do it alone. My question is if i wean myself off will i have withdrawal symptoms and i could use any advice at all! Thanks!

Yes you will still have some withdrawl symptoms but just not as bad. You will still probably have sweats, and be a little shakey. Beings you dont have as many as you did before in your body.
I know this story all to well. I to was addicted to the percs, and tabs 2 years ago taking 15-20 10's a day. Now I have relapsed after almost two years for the last 5 months only taking up to 7 a day and not all the time.
Its going to be hard anyway you do this. Just be strong and control them, do not let them control you.
I to tried to taper off but it didnt work for me. For me its cold turkey or nothing. I start detoxing tomorrow. It is one of the hardest things Ive ever had to do in my life. It hurts so bad. Not to scare you but you need to know what kind of demons your up against.
You mentioned you graduate in march. Congrats that tells me you want more out of life than some addiction that is only going to hurt you and anyone you love in the long run. Your only 21 dont ruin your life. I was 32 yesterday and it has ruined my life in more than one way.
I have a wonderful husband that has stood by me for some reason, i have no clue why other than he loves me! I also have two beautiful little boys that we adore and all three of the deserve so much better! They deserve the BEST! AND THATS WHAT IM GOING TO GIVE THEM! GOOD LUCK AND YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS!

Thank y'all so much for y'alls advice. Today I havent takin as many as I usually do by now but I have taking 3 10's. I told my family Wednesday an they are trying to help in every way they can I meant I don't know if I am going to be able to do it on my own without professional help or rehab. And if I miss anymore school before the 19th  I'll be expelled for 90 days so I don't know if I should just withdraw from the semester and come back January so I can go somewhere like that or just try to fight. And happy belated birthday Stacy. And good luck to you. I'll be praying for the both of us also.

Good call in finding this place.  It has been a life saver for so many, including myself!!

I kept telling myself...YOU HAVE the FLU!  It will be over and I will feel so much better.  My brain seemed to get that and settled down a little.  It is hard, but doable!  The Thomas Recipe (bottom of the page under Health Pages as Gnarly said will help.  I did not to the tranquilizers and had to cut back on the Ltryosine, but the rest really helped.  Imodium, Imodium, Imodium (liquid or pills if the liquid can't be found or you can't swallow it) will help.  I took double the dosage for a few days (personal choice) and it helped so much..even with the withdrawals in general and the opiate trots which sucked.

Hydrate and eat!  Even if it is just a little every hour or so.  You have to eat something to keep your energy up as much as possible.

If you have Restless legs..it is hit or miss what works.  Walking seemed to help me some.  Hot bath with epsom salts..a little.  I finally had to get my doctor to refill my restless legs meds (non addictive) to get some sleep.  If nothing works, your doctor might help.

One hour at a time is all anyone can ask.  After 2 weeks it gets a little better and I started to say, One day at a time!  Your brain will do all sorts of things to get you to take a pill.  I found if I was hungry..the cravings got worse.  I would try to eat a banana, a few grapes or a few crackers to get that under control.

Good for you.  I hope all goes well.  You have made a good start coming here....this site has helped me so much!!!  Keep posting!!!!!

Also if you start to have withdrawl symptoms to where you cant handle them. try excersising. It does help a lot. I have read about the Thoma Recipe on this forum that has OTC meds to help with the withdrawls. Im going to check it out as soon as Im done here.
Gatorade is another thing that helps a lot. It keeps you hydrated and thats def something you need.
You also mentioned you were doing this alone? I think in my personal opinion you need to have someone that your close to know about this. Sometimes things can go wrong while detoxing. But with you tapering you should be ok.
Its just nice to have someone to talk to! I was so stupid to ever think about taking one of those d--- things again! But I did....Now I have to feel the pain to know what Ive done once again!
