Not sure I'd consider suboxone.  The withdrawals from subs are waaayyyy more prolonged than the handful of acute detox days you'll endure quitting the percs.

My real concern is this:  Why do you want to quit?   Do you have the highest-level of determination that it takes to make it long-term?  Can you cut-off your sources, resist the cravings, and have an outlet when you're second-guessing your decision?

Most of us must bottom-out.... stare the Devil in the face.... before crying-out to God and our own inner-strength to turn-around and beat this.

If you are truly determined to quit, you can do this.  You WILL do this.  And the good people on this forum will do their best to guide you all the way.

From experience I would recommend going to detox, and then getting on a Suboxone program. That's exactly what I did & I have been sober for 2 years! You can't stay on it forever though, I'm currently being weaned off of Suboxone. It's so much easier though. You can do it! I did it, there's others that have done it! Just be strong, and don't have anything around you that will tempt you! God bless!

Just read your post. What happens next is up to you. If you want to continue the misery, it's always there for you. A little over 2 weeks ago I decided to get off my Oxy habit. Been on them over a year, and almost your mgs. For back pain. Right.

The forum here helped me through the first week of detox, lots of knowledgeable people here, who are very compassionate and take the time to be with you every step of the way. They still are helping me and pat me on the back when I am bragging about a few days clean.

But only you can choose to stop. Your call.

Hello and welcome. So have you started detoxing yet or are you just formulating the plan now? Youve said you have went cold turky 2 times before so you can do it again, Your right...it does $uck...but its not forever.

What kind of aftercare do you plan on being a part of? Were you in aftercare the 2 previous times? If so what are you going to do different this time? It sounds like you are frustrated and that's understandable but please realize there are very few addicts that get it right the first...second...etc....time. Use the past 2 times to your advantage and examine what you did that tripped you up.

You can bounce back from this...I guarantee. Youve made a good start by posting here. There are many here in the exact situation you are that can understand how you are feeling.

I hope we hear from you again and what your plans are.

Always,
ABN

i can completely relate to you.  I am currently TRYING to detox from methadone - which is what brought me to this forum.  I hate the person that got me taking them & addicted.  I am in extreme pain daily & 10 yrs ago was ok with just taking percs or vics to rid the pain...up until this month no one knew i took methadone, went on a vacation & my husband found them.  I was so ashamed that I started by own detox program (my dr is aware & included) - im down to 2.5 mg of methadone a day with about 20-30mg of Norco daily.  Scared ******** for the jump off 2.5, but don't seem like there is any other option from this point.
I've read that there are herbs & teas you can take to help with the mental & physical ramifications of d/t's.  anti-anxiety meds may help you as well from what i've read.

wish u the best!!!
