long term effects of suboxone use?

i am a 38 year old male.never really a big drug user or drinker.after i got married rarely drank alcohol and never used drugs.was married for 7 years and had two wonderful boys.in 2000 i lost my youngest child.he basically had a brain clot rupture, went into a seizure and passed.as you can imagine this caused a heavy strain on my marriage.eventually lead to a divorce.now i can't see my oldest son as much as i would like.and all i ever wanted to be in life was a good husband and a great father.I've had every emotion a person could ever have.and have thought about suicide in the past.but i just couldn't do that to the people who love me.
since 2000 i have been on wellbutrin, effexor, trazadone, clonopin, valium, xanax, lexapro, ambien, seroqel, lortab, percocet, morphine, suboxone, and oxycontin.all prescribed at throughout the last 10 years.even tried cocaine and smoking crystal meth for a couple months.the only thing that seems to make me feel half way normal.is when i'm on the suboxone,or the reason i'm on suboxone now.which is oxycontin during the day and xanax at night.i don't know what kind of life i will have.if i taper off the sub.will the depression be too much?i guess my question is for someone that's been on suboxone for a long time.do you still build up a tolerance and what kind of health issues would i expect.i could just be on this the rest of my life.i just don't know.
thanks for taking the time for reading this,J

hi all in,
If u have been on suboxone for 18 mnths have u tried to reduce slowly during that time? i reduced to the minimum after 18 mnths of reducing once per month. I did a 24 hr rapid detox from suboxone recently using the Naltrexone implant system..i can honestly say the first day was hellish i was shaking from pain and feeling deamon like..it was if some spirit was trying to squeeze in and out of my every orrifice..thats withdrawals for you..but the second day i was recovered and out of bed doing shopping with my teenager daughter..if u have a desire to be normal..u can be ! stay positive u r still young and can take the RDT rapid detox treatment..to get off the opiate roundabout..the U.S use the sleeping detox treatment which means u wont feel the detox as you're asleep..just google it or Google Naltrexone implant.

I tink everyones experince is somewhat differnt, I can gaurantee you people that have been long term  users of drugs like methadone, suboxone, heroin, morphine, oxycontin fenytal, dont kick in 4 or 5 days let alone 2 weeks, i have seen the jail scene too and they do give you things like Phenogram , for alcoholics that pose seizure risk or some one on benzos u will get Libruim. Of corse u can choose to say nothing and suffer that much more, ...Nothing like having these narcotics saturate into your bone marrow and throw up so much after taking it for years you dehydrate ,pottasium levels drop. cant eat and you really need to get profesinol help when this starts to take place, from a Dr.God i wish it was that simple for all of us.....Peace out....

You have been on drugs a long time it seems, so have I. I am on Sub (18 months), and I am doing better than ever.No I did not increase it-no need. I know that my years of drug abuse and a pre existing anxiety-depression disorder have done some major damage to my brain, and when I am not medicated, I am in hell. I fought with myself many times over needing medication to function normally, but every time I was "drug free", it did more harm than good, so if taking an anti depressant and Sub works, then I figure- just live with it and enjoy life.
Today, I am in college, happily married, and enjoying my teenage daughter- that sure beats the life I used to have!

its all in your mind ppl!!  detox is the worst the first 5 days!! after that its get better day by day but  not as bad a s ur first 5 days. What do u think ppl do when they kick there dope habbit in  jail??? they dont do nuthin ..the jail doeesnt give u any methadone or suboxone!! .. u just sweat it out yeah its gonna be   pretty harsh the first 5 days.. but then u  get back to normal..it only takes me 1- 2 full weeks to recover..after that its all in  your  head!!..Theres alot of ppl that tell themselfves in their  head" ""ohh imm siick i need somethin" I dont feel right" ******** they just want  methadone toi get a nodd!!..What it comes down to is mind over  matter.. I was a hard dope junkie  for 2 years..and went i was not doin the dope or wen i had no money to buy dope i woud take "2 mg of suboxone" to get me thru each day and i was fine!!..Suboxone in my  opion isnt to take for months and months,  its to take for a week a 2  and  lean urself off it day by day.Its made  so u have a comfortable detox and puts that signal in ur brain that ur high wen ur really not. but ur brain thinks it. and  yeah suboxone is a minor  opiate  so wen uget off ur gonna feel a little ******..so u just gonna  bite ur tongue and  beat it for a little...The guys  that kick in jail.do it and  after a month or  2  their back to normal..so u just gotta fight it

Hi,

I just happened to see you on here.  I am in recovery now and they gave me suboxone to get off methodone.   I could not do methodone on my own, I tried.  So i checked into a 28 day program and was in detox for 3 days.  Suboxone is what they use to withdraw you but it is also very hard to get off of,  Here they give you a measured dosage and wean you off.  It still is not easy but the support is great.

You can try it at home but if you can not do it, I suggest go somewhere and detox and do a 28 day program.  It was the best thing i could have done for myself.

I wish you the very best, meg

Havent had any after about 3 years. When I try to taper, or dont take it for a day or so, I get a great feeling when I use it, which is sounding kind of druggy, but whatever. Im a dad, in late 30's and the only thing I would think it would do for you at this point if you stopped taking it, is give you a chance to get high and possibly die.

Coke doesnt do anything and it must be the Buprenorphine, but all I hear is that nothing works for coke. I dont get it, I am not a good example, because I continue to want to feel that inner and outer and subdermal warmth, that thinking that is impenetrable and fearless, exact and knowing. The world is there and it is for you, (is what it says when I am high). Why has this or was this feel not available before? Why cant it be since we have the ability? Its sad, knowing now, that its all going to fleet and leave me worse that before, should I use something to feel something else. Why am I a dirt bag loser addict for discovering how to feel awesome? I am, and there seems no stopping, not even the amazing things in my life.
