losing ground

After 3 months off a 8-10 pill a vicodin a day habit.  I am afraid I need to take them again.

I do not know if I now have some strange chemical imbalance thing going on or what but I do not talk...smile..laugh.  No clue who I am anymore.

Definitely don't go back!  I'm seeing my doc this week to address this issue face to face.  I think depression is a trigger for me so I"m going to cover all bases...even depression...so I never lose ground again.  It's important to cover all bases.  You should def see your doc...as everyone seems to agree. :o) *HUG*

Hey there. You don`t need the pills to be happy and smile. The pills you were on have nothing to do with being happy or smiling. Feeling good about yourself and being proud of yourself for getting away from the pills is what should make you happy. Are you getting outside in the sun?   I know for a fact that the sun has a lot to do with how you feel and many times when you feel bad, you get used to spending much of you time indoors. It takes time for your body to absorb the vitamin D you need to feel good.
I`m not saying that this is why you don`t smile but it is a lot better to try to get more sun than it is to go back taking pills. Everybody here is hoping you do the right thing. Keep posting. We`ll help you get through this.

Hi, please don't do it, it is totally not worth it!  You don't want to go through detox again along with everything else that goes with having to feed a daily pill addiction.  You broke free and came so far, don't put yourself back in vicodin jail! I know it's really hard when our minds start whispering 'solutions' to us when we are experiencing a low point, but vicodin is not the solution.  This too shall pass, I promise.  Stay strong, you are doing awesome!

Bunco - Please don't go back to the vics. You may need to address your depression with your doctor. Opiates are not going to fix you. You might get a temporary lift, but as we all know too well, it will end badly. Get some professional help. Many of us have issues with depression. Appropriate treatment often works very well. I wish you the best.

Hey there :)
I don't have experience with that many clean days but just wanted to congratulate you for making it this far!  I have struggled in the past with depression before the pills came into my life and for me exercise and eating healthy made a huge difference.  Big hugs and I hope some of the wise ones here will answer you soon!

I noticed you have been postig alot and noone is responding.  I don't know the answer about the depression but I do know that pills won't make you happy.  I am trying to get off of them and it is so hard.  I was up to 15-20 percs a day and after going through 2 days of cold turkey decided to take 2 a day for about 7 days.  I still have had lots of withdrawals and knew that I was going to start taking more or just quit.  Today is Day 1 with none.  I was depressed and miserable while I was taking them, lying to family and friends.  Totally reclusive.  You are doing great at 3 months clean. Don't blow it.  I would try counselling for your depression.  It could help.
