methadone n subutex

Is it ok to take subutex with methadone?  I know you cannot take suboxone with it but how about subutex??

Hello. There is some long running confusion here about the differences between suboxone and subutex. The primary reason why new inductees are advised to be in moderate withdrawals before taking thier first dose of suboxone/subutex is because the Buprenorphine itself can cause precipitated withdrawals. The naloxone is inert when consumed orally and is only activated when injected.

So, to answer your question: It is no more ok to take subutex whilst on methadone than it is to take suboxone. Same/Same. I advise against it. Talk with your doctor if you are still unsure.

no it is not okay. they are the the same medication. why are you wanting to? i am confused. are you trying to manage your opiate addiction on your own?
