I get the restless arms alot! Drives me nuts-when it is really bad I just find sitting up to sleep works the best. I know its pretty inconvenient to do but I just curl up sitting on the couch and it seems to help.
Trust me it does get better!! I am past my 4th day but I have help. My husband came in from the oil field to help with our 200lb handicapped son in a wheelchair. Is there anyone who can stay with u to make sure your eating? I had only 3 yogurts in 3 days and was extremely weak. Hubby forced some vegie soup down me and my energy has come up alittle. Please don't give up. This is my second time to DT and it was way worse. Look up the Thomas Recipe and if you can't get the store asks a family member or a friend to pick these up. It will help. God bless you and be strong too.
I figured that on would not work (push ups) it was a random thought. I was thinking maybe pushing against a wall for a few tries might work. The heating pad should help.
I just found my heating pad and I have it warming up I am going to try that.
I dont have any hylands or tonic water in the house and it is 10:37pm right now. I live in a small town so everythng is closed. I took a potassium vitamin about an hour ago and its not working. I am un able to do push ups. LOL
There is no easy answer to that after being addicted to pain pills. You may lie down put your arms straight down beside you and relax them this may help some with the WD from this med. It is rough on your body. You may have to take Advil as prescribed. Then you may need to see your Dr. tell them what you are trying to do they may can help.
The Hylands works well. If you have some tonic water in the house just drink that. It's the quinine that does the work. Also, apple juice, bananas, magnesium, calcium. Keep drinking! You need A LOT of fluids during any detox.
What were the sleep meds? Some things will just make the RLS worse.
Try a heating pad.....some have had success with Hyland's Restful Legs OTC, It helped some with my restless legs. Could help with the arms Walking helped my legs (I hate exercise) maybe some weight bearing with the arms. I hesitate to say pushups, but it might help. I hope someone else chimes in with something.
