I started with "however many" my amount was 3 - 7.5 hydros. So you can kind of know where I started the taper from. I was taking more than that when I was using. But I got used to taking only three about a week or two before I started the taper.
Oh, and just a suggestion but you should not mix the percs with the subutex when tapering. It won't work. Go easy on the Xanax, just shave off a little if you need it to sleep. They can be addicting as well. Good luck.
Hi, here's how I did it. I started with however many then went down 1/2 pill every three days. When I got to a half pill, I stayed on it for four days and then jumped off. The first week was actually tolerable. I got moving - walking up the inclines and downhill and uphill in my neighborhood every day, it really helped. I took a multi-vitamin and Cal/mag three times a day with oatmeal. That was until I got my appetite back after a few days. Lots of juice and water. I did not try to take too much Motrin but when I needed it - I took it. People suggested Hylands for the jiggy leg at night and Immodium for the bathroom stuff. I did not take either but I hear it helps. Conflicting reports on the Hylands though. I've heard Fish Oil is a great supplement to help your brain recover. I will tell you that I just passed four weeks and I'm feeling the best I've felt in years. Energy is back, all symptoms gone. I started my new job as a paralegal yesterday, high stress, but hey, I've been doing it for years so it won't be that bad. I only tell you that, so you will sort of be able to judge how I've come along. I had a pretty deep addiction to Norco for years, so... But I'm living proof, IT CAN BE DONE! And it isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Yes, there were some wicked segments of time (I don't say "days" because it was only part of days) but they lift and you get relief. The relief starts to come more often and more often until it's the whole day and night. And you're home free. Don't give up, you have made a great decision to free your life and improve your life. Good luck and write back.
congrats on your decision to get off the pills,I was taking hydro 160 mg a day and got off on june 12th,I was put on sub.and got off that after about 5 weeks.I tapered off the sub.w/o problems.
the fear of withdrawal symptoms was my biggest problem,I took the hydros for 7 years and the sub.under the supervision of an addiction specialist.
brave thing you did telling the docs the truth, very good move for sure.I would go to an addiction doc or clinic and go to meetings asap.good luck and God bless you!
We aren't supposed to give out taper schedules. You might try a search here & Google?
Be careful with the subutex. It can be worse than percocet to get off of.
