I have severe RLS. Doctor gave me 100mg Trazodone. I only took 50mg.
Made my RLS 200% worse. Kept me awake untill 8am.

Don't know if it helps for RLS.  I take half a trazadone before bed.  It's an anti-anxiety medication.  Helps you sleep.  But I'm slowly working my way off those too.  Don't want any more pills at all, for anything.

I tried trazadone first, and it made my body feel extremely tired but did nothing for my mind, this is when I was at a peak of a panic disorder "never been addicted to anything other then cigs" and I feel it made me worse, I didnt like it, totally seemed like it was causing more problems, also This type of AD can cause a condition known as Tardive Dystonia, basically its when your body does random movements and jerking, and cannot be cured after it has happened.

Hi Utah,

I tried looking up Melatonin but only found that it's a hormone.
Is it a pill you take? Is it OTC or prescribed? We're willing to try anything.
Thanks for the suggestion.  : )

trazedone is an anti-depressant...usually 50 or 100 mgs..it works great for sleep..it is non-narcotic..but be careful if you are detoxing...it could make you more depressed as you detox..because you will naturally be bummed out by withdrawl....good luck...........

I have RLS and used to take medication for that, but then I read in a natural health book that Magnesium taken before bedtime helps too.  So, that's what I use and it works.  Some people have told me it worked and for some it didn't.  Maybe give that a try?  I also use Melatonin which helps me stay asleep - again works for some, but not everyone!

Hugs and good luck,
Janet

I sent you a PM, so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I am swamped in work today. I think trazadone is like valium right? I am not sure. But anyway, check your PM...
