I didn't sleep more than 3-4 hours a night for 3 weeks.  It made me mental.  And I was taking sleep meds too.  I did get a lot of writing done and watched a LOT of good TV series.  I watched the entire 6 seasons of LOST in three weeks!  Love that series.
You probably won't be that bad because I don't think your use was as high or as long as mine.  You just gotta be patient friend.
For sure look up the Yoga Nidra that Annie mentioned.  I posted about it last week and the link is over on the social forum.  It's targeted for people with chronic pain and addiction issues.
This is just a small blip in the grand scheme of your life.  But this blip is so important to the rest of your life so hang tight.

It seemed impossible for me, I went 19 days without sleep, detoxing from methadone. I did all the things advised and rode it out. Well, apparently i am tougher than I thought, because I made it. It was also very worth it. I have many struggles in life, buy bein an active addict isn't one of them, and that was my worst problem ever. Hang in there, you are not the first nor the last to feel how you do. One day, you will explain how it seemed impossible, but you did it and it was worth it. Do whatever it takes, just leave drugs behind as an option, that's what it takes. Eyes on the prize my friend, eyes on the prize.

Hi :)

First, Congrats on 6 Days!!

Yup, You're going through it! The no sleep thing is definitely the worst part of the 'process'. Our circadian rhythms get all messed up because acute detox is such a shock to our systems. Our balance of neural hormones is destroyed & it takes time for them to even out. You're going through the worst of it right now, so hang in there! It's worth it & you've come so far!  Nights are bad b/c not only are we energetically depleted but we have the expectation of sleep & also have the dread that we won't be able to. You may feel as though you mentally & physically can't take another day of it but it turns out we're so much stronger than we realize! Stick with it. You'll be glad you did.

As Gnarly mentioned, hot baths can help. I'd add salt to them as it's slightly sedating & cleansing. I'd follow the bath w/ reflexology (foot rubs) &/or massage if you 're lucky enough to have someone around who'll do this for you :). If you can't sleep, don't fight it! Just try to redirect. Come on MH & post for yourself or in support of others. Journal, watch funny movies, listen to your favorite music w/ earbuds, listen to 'white noise' like ocean sounds, rain, etc. on yt or check out sleep meditations there [try 'Yoga Nidra'], read or do anything else that's healthy & gets you out of your heart & head. Getting out into the sunshine, fresh air & exercising a bit during the day will help as well.

Hold Fast, my friend! You're doing it. Breathe deeply & give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back:)

Hi  it is hard to sleep when your body will not cooperate ...1 thing worked for me was a hot bath as hot as you can stand it even if it is just for 5 or 10 minutes try to soak as long as you can then go in the bedroom lay on the bed and dry off this will bring down the anxiety and restlessness if your legs are going after that get a blanket and wrap your legs  fairly tight kinda like swaddling a baby  keep pushing on this will end eventually keep posting for support............Gnarly
