on subutext while pregnant: update

I just wanted to post an update on  this for anyone who is going through this. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I'm on subutext just had my first ultrasound everything went great. The baby is doing well and is even a little big for how far a long I am. I have talked to my ob about everything and he agreed with my sub doctor that I should stay where I am at 2mg for the rest of my pregnancy. He says its more risky to come off than stay on it and he doubts the baby will go through withdrawal since the amount I take is so little. I hope this helps someone else out there who is going through this as well,  please talk to your doctor don't just stop its so dangerous for your baby. They will help you not judge you, they just need to see you want what is best for your baby. And going cold turkey is not,  its more harm to the baby than staying on being monitored by a doctor. Oh yeah and by the way I found out that I'm having a little boy, so happy since we already have two beautiful daughters. Keep everyone updated with whats going on with me so hopefully it will help someone else out who is in the same situation.

Me too, thank you very much! I just really hope my story will help someone else out there going through this, its such a tough situation to be in but being honest with your doctor is always best. And they never look down on a woman as long as she is doing all she can to stay clean for her baby,  I know many women are afraid to tell their doctors about being on pills because they think their babies will be taken away but its so not true. Its more than likely going to happen if they try to hide their addiction. People who are really wanting to stay clean are completely honest about what's going on. That way you have to be accountable for you actions good or bad.

Have a few in mind but not to sure yet thanks for asking and i will do so for sure. Its my second time going through this so its not as scary as last time since l pretty much already know what to expect. My daughter is almost 3 now and has no problems from this to this day she is very healthy and smart.  She only had some slight withdrawal symptoms at birth so they didn't have to treat her thank god. But getting on subutext and getting pregnant is what saved my life i had just started on suboxin a fews weeks before I got pregnant and was still struggling really bad i really needed the subutext to help me stay clean for my baby while i worked on me, i had been addicted to herion for over 3 years so i really needed it. And i haven't touched it since,  my life is great now so i figured my story could help a lot of other women out there struggling with addiction and being pregnant.

I am so impressed how open and honest you are with your doctor.  You are an inspiration for others!  I hope you stick around as you can provide vital info to the ones in the same situation.  Telling the doctor is always the hardest for so many.

I will do so for sure, its such a scary situation to be in most women are to ashamed to be honest. And they shouldn't have to be they made a mistake but are at least doing what tgey know is best for their babies by telling their doctors and they should not be looked down upon. It really ***** trust me i know. But being on subutext is what saved my life well that and getting pregnant. I can say if I would have gotten off of them right away I would probably went back to using herion after my first 2nd daughter was born. I had been a herion addict for 3 years it took a while to get my life straight again I had messed it up so bad while using.  I needed the subs to help me stay clean for a good while until I got my life straight and my self esteem back. It is so important to work some kind of program while on them though.  I can say my life is completely different than it was 4 years ago and its so nice to have my life back in my own control again for sure wouldn't change it for the best high in the world.
