opite addiction

Help... I have been addicted to opiates for 25 years. Approx. 20 pills a day of percocets , Tylenol 3 and codeine. I am on day 7 of tapering now taking 3 Tylenol 3 and 1 codeine. I am still feeling so crappy and am just looking for support, guidance, understanding....I do not want to start taking other prescription drugs at this time. Any suggestions???? Please and Thanx
Blessings

Hi! Congrats for taking the pill-free plunge! Yep, you feeling like cr@p is normal. Follow the thomas recipe on this site to get all the stuff you need.

Since you've already done a week, and I'm guessing you are done w/ the percs now? Honestly, you can just jump to cold turkey. Tapering at this point just prolongs the misery. You'll feel horrible, like you do now, but you won't die.

What helps the most honestly? Time. Gotta give your body and mind time to heal. 25 years is quite the chunk of time, so your healing will taking some time. But, it will come.

Keep posting and if we can do this so can you!!!

Hi there and welcome! There is lots of advice and support here. Tapering can be difficult. Do you have some support there? Someone who can hold your pills and give them to you per your taper schedule? Do you have a doctor that can help you as well? You will feel withdrawals symptoms during a taper as your body adjusts. Stay very well hydrated, eat healthy meals, take vitamins, and stay as active as possible. Get even some mild exercise preferably outside. All of this will help. Stay strong and focused on your goal. Take care, I wish you the best! Keep posting with any questions or if you need support.
