No way around the discomfort but you can take the edge off in many ways...Great tips above from those who have been through it,,,,
Physically: hot baths for sure if you can. I was a prune by the end of day 2....it was my safe place...im a dude but i lit candles and played really good music,,,,I used an OTC sleep aid as prescribed and it helped....
Mentally: keep posting and talking it through, you're going to need some sort of tools when the crap thoughts come in,,,,,and they will,,,,
during this time remiond yourself that every second that passes means you're one second closer to full recovery...

You are right..it can't get any worse than how you feel right now...so as long as we keep moving forward, it just gets better as the days pass. Try not to focus (the best you can) on how you are feeling. I used to figure, I can sit here feeling blah or try to accomplish something. But I know that in early withdraw, depending on a persons history, that isn't possible. I had some where there was no way at all I could move around without feeling like my legs were stumps that I could hardly lift the first few days, couldn't stay away from a bathroom, nauseated, and extremely lethargic. And then I have had some where I was tired and lethargic, but not so much I couldn't at least try to go to work. If you make it through the day, you can go home, collapse and then soon it will be day 3 and this will be behind you!!!
Good Morning and Welcome...Weakness and Sleep is a big issue around here..I do agree with the posting above..If you try to re-direct your self from your thinking it does pass quicker..The First Step is the biggest Step of them all..Great Job on the days you have in..Are you planing on attending any AA/NA This really gives you a uplift and a understanding on how serious this disease is..It is nice to be around people that know how you feel..Plus it keeps the mind off of things..We can help you out with some of the natual or otc things we used and are still using to help you with the energy and sleep issues...Have you had any anxiety yet?? This all will pass as the body heals..That is why it is important that you get all the vit/min and keep the electrolytes up...Keep on stepping forward and do not look back.

hey there, I just wanted to let you know that you are so not alone!! I'm on day 3. and I feel just terrible. have you tried smoking pot? Iknow it's illegal and all that, but it truly does help with the physical wd symptoms.
U guys are great. I just took a shower. Ate something. I'm going to take ur advise. It's gotta get better. I like the baby steps. I found myself screaming at the devil. Sounds crazy,, but telling him to go away, not needed here. It felt good. Thanks.
If you have a job where you sit most of the day, then try to go. Keeping busy does help pass the time even if you don't feel so great. Sitting around for me didn't give me a chance to escape thnking about how I felt. Day 2 is usually the worst day for most people, but if you feel good enough to get around, try it. If it gets too bad, then go home sick if you can. Tomorrow will be better than today. Right now time is moving slow and a ything you can do to speed it up helps. In the meantime, do things in baby steps. Take a shower, rest, get dressed, rest, dry your hair, etc. Once you get going, at least for me, it gets a little bit better. You are doing great!
That is....leave if possible. Darn auto correct..lol
I know exactly how you feel I have done the same. My thought is go and if you start feeling bad then leave of possible. Then if you need the next day or so off you can play the sick card. Keeping busy is really important. Good luck!
