hope someone has some knowledge regarding this, i ahve tried the dental forum with no help, i have been on the methadone through DRs supervision for 3 weeks nd am experience terrible dry mouth, especiall when i first wake up, but all day just not as bad, also ( not to be gross) but a white film on my tongue that i have to brush off. i am only on 20mg of the methadone, has anyone gone through this?? and any advice would be appreciated. thanks

no i am tapering off of 20mg, i only went on short term for a long time opiate addiction tp vicodin. started out for pain, the vicodin, but then turned into a full on addiction for many years. i was trying to teper off the vicodin, big problem was my hubby is addictied to, so we fed into each other, not a good scene, i needed a change, desperately, i am in outpatient therapy, i go to NA/AA, i go to weekly therepy, and chemical dependancy therapy....so i have most bases covered, but the obsession over the vicodin became more of a problem day by day, running out earyl, going through terrible w/ds etc. so my Dr and i decided low dose of methadone, for short term use only might be a good route, so far i have had nothing but seccess. my parents, Drs, even landlord all say i am like a different person. my husband and i cannot use each others meds, so that stress is gone...i dont get high off them, but i dont get w/ds, which is a great thing for me, i know i will have to wean off this too, but thats why i started low dose and have a goal date for weaning, in the meantime its all about working my A** off through the pain i have been running from, thru all my therapy....anyway, sorry to write a novel, but thanks for asking.....

Yes...everything as they recommend it...you need to use it for a few days...they have the drops as well and I think they work the best...Also,it would be great if you could start tapering the Methadone...are you on it for pain?

thanks so much, i did buy that yesterday, but only the mouthwash, would u recommend the toothpaste as well????

Hi..it's very common. Go to the store/pharmacy and get some BIOTENE. It works!
