suboxone +chantix

I just went to the doctors today. She perscribed chantix to quit smoking. Ive been on suboxone(for opiate addiction) for 1 year and 4 months. I take 16mg. a day.  Im just wondering if it is OK to take them together. I just want to find out as much as i can befor i start chantix. Please give me as much info as possible. thanks

Gabapentin helps kill withdrawal symptoms coming off opiates... big time. 800 to 1600mg or more.  I swear by it.  Heard this on bluelight and it worked.. was as Godsend.

my best friend quit smoking but first tried chantix an had some really bad side effects felt strange awful nightmares an had seazure from chantix doc took her off asap. Also seen on tv a lawyer saying if you had bad side effects from taking chantix or even death pls call today we have law suit in effect. Dont know all about say u could google it

No chantix is not going to give you any sort of relief during sub withdrawal, or atleast it didnt for me. Compared to methadone w/d's, suboxone wasnt nearly as bad but it was one of the hardest detoxes Ive gone through and sadly thats saying something. Wish you all the best, Im not knocking sub or anything, it worked for me but eventually you have to bite the bullet unless you wanna be dependent upon another opiate forever. I'm one year clean next month - was on sub. for 6 weeks to detox.  I felt fine on Chantix - though I've since heard reports of folks with the problems you mentioned.  Fortunately I haven't relapsed on drugs - unfortunately, well, the smoking....

So your on both suboxone and chantix? Do you feel wierd or anything? Ive heard things about chantix like it causes nightmares and suicidle thoughts. Im kind of scared. Do you really feel good? How long have you been on suboxone?

My doc. put me on both when I did my sub. detox - it's safe.

Sorry I have no idea if it is safe. Best bet would be to call your sub doctor.  Good luck.  That will be my next hurdle , quitting smoking.
