thank you all for response

hi! i am new and not quite sure how to respond . i want and need to be clean, not just because i was caught. every day for years has been all about getting pain meds, ie: mostly darvocet. i need help now, i am ashamed to show my face at this pharnacy, and do not how i will ever call the dr's office again, much less, seeing him.
i want to know if i can do this myself?
i did make a appt.with suboxone dr. that i have gone to before, many times, failed. he will see me on friday.
i need my life back, nobody aware except my husband how addicted i am.
i do not want to die ,i want to live.
god, i have three beautiful granchildren ava, ryan and olivia. i am happy only when i am with them.
i have quite a history, could take me days to tell. i am trying to let go of the quilt and shame of yesterday , live for today and hope for a future.
i will be free of alcohol 2 yrs next month, i never thought i could stop. it had become a nightmare.i lost my daughter age 20 in a car accident and drank away the grief. it was there waiting for me when i got sober. i drank long before.she died  to cope with everyday life .she would hate for me to use her death a excuse to drink.

i totally agree with Worried and the others....i would most definitely NOT do the Sub to replace a darvocet addiction. You would be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.  You can do this without Sub, you really really can. Im not saying you wont suffer WD, because of course you will...its inevitable, but it wont be as severe as some of the other opiate WD's and this includes SUB.   If you went on Sub,  the WD"s ffrom that would be much worse than the darvocet ones.

I have to agree with worried I also have never heard of a darvocet  addict receiving sub. I myself would be hesitant to go to this Dr. You had quit drinking 2 years next month.. Good on You and Congratulations !! If you can do that you can spend a few days in and out of a Hot shower just getting your detox over with.. maybe pick up meetings with AA or NA and maybe a grief support group it is never to late. Be kind to yourself.. lesa

darvocet/as a rule/is not a suboxone issue...it is an extremely weak narcotic but full of tylenol/600 mgs per pill as a as a rule...what is it that u r afraid of? main fear if u r doing more than 6-8 a day, is frying ur liver

I will be honest/and i want other mebers to share..this is a first for hearing a darvocet user resort to sub/and i have been here close to 2 yrs...u r switching to another narcotic that is at least 20/actually more/ x stronger than the one u r on..darvocet is barely even recognized as a narcotic///tis but barely/can u do some education on what u r getting urself into?

if it is wds u r afraid of then u r jumping into a realm of tough wds if u stay on sub for any length of time...sub wds can make darvocet wds look like pure nuttin/darvocet wds r a cake walk when compared to sub or methadone wd

i think u need to educate and re-valuate urself before u do a nose dive off a cliff and end up broken and crashed when u finally hit the ground...get other opinions but personally i have never heard of a darvocet addict doing sub to quit..be safe..think straight...dont so sumpin stupid...keep posting
