weaning schedules

I know this question has been asked to death and I tried sifting thru the archives to find some help first but I really couldn't find an exact answer for my particular question.First of all,it's not even me this time,it's for my son. He's 25 and he had leukemia until he had a bone marrow transplant a few years ago and since then he's had so many problems including chronic pain for which they have given him oxycontin and roxicodone. The other day he came to me and said he really wanted to get off the stuff. He said the pain wasn't that bad and he was really ready to do it but he wasn't sure how.He asked me to set up a weaning schedule for him but I need some kind of guidelines to go by.He has been taking an 80mg.oxy and a 30mg roxi every morning for at least 2 years. Some days he takes more, even double that, but for the most part thats his his normal dose.Any help with how long the taper should last and how slow or fast(he wants it to be fast)it should be would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!
