Norco Free

Hello, I am new to this site and community.  Seven days ago I was faced with a decision.  I was going to run out of my meds before it was time to refill.  That was a reality check for me.  My background:  I am a working mother of two and have a degenerated disk in my lower back and after I had my last child was prescribed Hydrocodone for the pain since I could take it and still breast feed.  Never in a million years would I have thought that a year and a half later I would be dependant.  I have never "done drugs" or used anything illegal so how could I be a potential addict, right?  That was when I started searching the internet for information on addiction and withdrawal symptoms etc. and found this site.  I want to thank those of you who tell your stories and let people like me read them.  I believe had it not been for reading these testimonies and seeing the support that one can get from this site that I would still be figuring out how to make it to my next refill.  I am proud to report that today I am 5 days Norco free!  Withdrawals are mild now and I am thinking more clearly.  Thanks to all of you!

Im trying my best! Thanks for your encouragment! Every bit helps! It takes an addict to know an addict so I can only tell what I know and how Ive felt and if that can help one person than I did something positive from my addiction experience!!

Good Morning! Yes its part of the process. But every time you feel depressed think of your family...They deserve the real you...the sober you. Thats the biggest thing that got me going. Were all a work in progress to creating something beautiful! I once heard that " a life of sobriety is not a death sentence to a life of misery, but a door open to a world of unimaginable things" That has stuck with me the most.
If you have to go outside, or do anything to get your mind in a better mood. I turn the music up really loud and clean:) I mean I clean from top to bottom. And my husband is like "today was a good day I hope" lol It feels great to be here today! Tomorrow is day 7 for you! On the 11th I will have 2 months so we all have something to be greatful for today! Everyday is a step in the right direction!

That is great to hear! Im a mother of 4 and a wife. It all started with the pills. And now I have 2 months clean from anything and everything. Its a big step to acknowledge you have a problem, but its a step in the right direction. We all make mistakes...were human. But we need to learn from them. Best of luck to you in your recovery!
