zoloft withdrawal

I have been taking 200mg./day for 9 yrs. and lost my prescription last week on the wy home fom the pharmacy.I've been almost completely without it for 6 days now and am beginning to have bizarre, scary symptoms.Should I just ride it out until my insurance will cover the cost of the next rx in 2 weeks.I'm on a fixed income and don't have the finances until then. I'm between a rock and a dangerous place.I've heard some people have had serious consequences.I'm also on other meds for sciatica, thyroid, blood pressure,c.o.p.d.,cholesterol,diabetes.

I tried getting thru most of the day at a nurses station they have set up.I finally got a call this evening telling me my doctor wasn't in and the other doctor in charge said there was nothing he could do except to tell me to go pay for the rx which I already got thru explaining earlier to the nurse I Didn't have the funds being near the end of the month.I jokingly told her I'd take a ride and hit up a pharmacy. She says I'm going to have to make believe I didn't hear that. She told me to just call back tomorrow and maybe my doctor can do something.Duh!.Hopefully I can have him prescribe me an S.S.R.I. similar to Zoloft to balance me off until I can get it filled in another week or so.Right now my vision, balance, focus, and thoughts along with sweats are out there.

i went cold turkey off Prozac after being on it for about 15 years. I was up to 40 mg of it (i started out at 10). No taper, just stopped (had to, due to bad side effects that came out of the blue after years of taking it, weird I know) but anyhow, I didnt have the symptoms you are having. In fact for quite ahwile i did very well and thought I was gonna get through with no backlash. But the depression did come back, bigtime. I still havent gone back on any antidepressants though, and its been probalby 5 months or more since i stopped it now. I would call your doctor though and like the others said, have him re-write it for a different dosage and insurance will have to cover it then. good luck to you.

I agree.  Absolutely talk to your doctor.  Meanwhile, the drug companies have hotlines for urgent concerns.

WOW, that is a large dose of zoloft.  I take 50 mg a day and at one point I was taking 10 mg a day but had to cut back because I was no longer able to focus my eyes and I was permanently stoned.
I cannot imagine how you could have functioned on that dosing but obvioulsly you did.
I don't thikn your dr woul dhave a problem writing another script.  Sometimes with ins if you change the dosing they will cover it because they treat it as a new prescription.  So if you  were prescribed   200 mg once a day or 100 mgs twice a day ask your dr to write a script for 50 mg for 4 times a day.  You might get them to pay for it that way. It's for zoloft not a pain med or a tranquilizer.
i think it's not a good think if your having bozarre, scary symptoms.  If your dr will not help you I would suggest goingto an emergency room.
Good luck to you.

I don't think you should take any chances. Go see you doctor and explain what happened. How the heck did you lose your script? Well, anyway..go to the doctor. With your other conditions, it is best to have him/her check you.
