I am not an expert on electronic cigarettes. It seems to me that they would be somewhat safer, and not as obnoxious to others, then the real ones. The only thing that really makes you quit is personal commitment and attitude. You have to think like a non-smoker. The stuff is vile, it stinks, there is nothing good about it. It starts killing from the first puff and continues doing it until you die of cancer or emphysema. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about tobacco. Try the electronic ones, then wean yourself off with less and less nicotine concentration. Good luck,
to be honest it is difficult you just have to keep trying. a relapse doesnt mean you have lost to nicotine it means you know what to expect.
I am on week 5 of giving up (given up for 12 months couple years back) and you do feel low and flat for a long time but I am now feeling very tired and sometimes a bit low, but now it sort of feels ok. am ok feeling like this its as though the recovery is only just starting for me. I can feel it. I dont want to smoke dont feel like it but my brain still needs the stimulant and the anti depressive effects of smoking.
If you have a stressful life a recommend your doctor prescribes an antidepressant specifically used for giving up smoking.
At the end of the day chewing nicotine gum and e cigarettes are still putting nicotine in your body so in my case it was just delaying and extending my symptoms for longer. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow so he can assess if i need meds.
If you have oarticular stressors that make you start smoking you may need to consider changing things in your life. With addiction recovery you often have to alter your life style to replace the addiciton. You need to think about this, not just accept what I am saying.
Good luck!!! Bed time for me.... yawn
