I am a 33 year old mother to four children and I have suffered since high school in extreme ways similar to Addison's symptoms. I feel at this point that I am non-functional and am desperate to live like a normal person.
EXTREME fatigue, no appetite, very underweight, frequently passing out, low blood pressure, always freezing cold, and many others things.
I have been taken by ambulance twice for passing out and being unresponsive and have pass out upon standing a few times a week.
However, I do not have any hyperpigmentation.
I recently met with an endo and here are my results from my ACTH test-- I cannot find similar results online anywhere and I meet with her next week.
As you can see from my results, my baseline cortisol level is normal but I barely reacted at all to the ACTH.
Baseline cortisol: 18.2
30 minute interval: 18.5
60 minute interval: 22
There is such conflicting information on all the medical journals-- some say that I automatically don't have adrenal insufficiency because my baseline cortisol is over 15, but other scientific journals say the baseline number doesn't matter, just that the numbers need to at least double from the baseline.
SO confusing.
Does anyone have any input about this? Thank you!
