So it is on the lower side. Yes, it should be higher in the morning and drop all day long - but cortisol is very variable - with illness and other things. So you cannot judge on one test. It takes many to see a pattern.
It is best to test consistently - same time, same way - so 8am fasting. My doc insists 8am fasting (10 hour fast) with no meds that morning and if was on HC, no afternoon HC. Then I just take them after the test. That way he knows I test the same way, all the time and he knows the change is me, not how I test.
The range was 3-28 but is that an all day range like I know it can drop down to 3 and be OK but what I see iit should be at its highest at 8 am? No I don't guess it was supposed to be fasting they didn't say
What was the range on the cortisol? Fasting?
Sodium was on low side too.
Now you need more testing, and ACTH, adrenal antibodies, renin/aldosterone, a good general work up and vitamins minerals etc.
Then stimulation testing.
Sodium(136-145 mmol/L) 136
Creatinine(0.5-1.1 mg/dL) 0.55
Potassium(3.5-5.1 mmol/L) 4.8
Chloride(98-107 mmol/L) 101
