My husband seems to have symptoms of AI--unexplained weight loss, extreme fatigue, mental fog, borderline hypoglycemia, and low-ish BP with orthostatic hypotension. He also has Hashimoto's. We took him into a thyroid specialist who ordered the ACTH stim test.
His results came back in the "normal" range, if I'm understanding everything I read online. At 0 min he was 11.5 and at 60 min he was 24.5. It doubled, but does that seem low?
We have our follow up appointment with the Dr. and I'm afraid he's going to dismiss our concerns.
My husband doesn't know if his bloodwork was done in a chilled tube but the nurse did take it right away and the results were posted very soon after the test, so at least they weren't sitting around in a box somewhere. They didn't test actual ACTH levels.
I guess I'm just asking for advice on what to say to the doctor if he starts telling us there's nothing wrong. Are there things left undone that should be done? What do you think?
Thanks in advance,
Julie
