you don't want to do lsd either... people that do too much drugs like LSD end up in psychiatric hospitals.  Your mind is like a biological computer... drugs and alcohol just won't make it work well.

You know I had been smoking weed for mostly all of my life.  Started when I was 15.

Now I'm 26... and you know what?  Weed lost it's magic to me... It just doesn't have the same feeling it did when I was younger, I would even say it's pointless for me to have some now.  All it does it makes me feel stupid and unmotivated.  Weed doesn't damage the brain in the same way as other drugs do but that is by no means any reason for you to continue to smoke it.  If I could go back in time to when I was 15 years old I would tell myself not to smoke weed at all.  I would say, instead of smoking weed, why don't you spend that time going to class, doing homework, playing sports, hanging out with people who don't smoke weed instead of the people that smoke weed.

Because you know what??? I'm 26 and every single friend of mine that I smoked weed with when I was in high school is basically a loser, and their life just isn't working out right now in adulthood.  And you know what?? Every single person that DIDN'T smoke weed that I grew up with... their lives are all working!!! They got good jobs, they have relationships, maybe they got married and have a kid and are starting families.  They are all happy people.

So think of it this way... Do you want to be happy for the rest of your life or do you want to be unhappy for the rest of your life.

These are basically the two paths you have to choose from... If you stay hanging out with the people that 'smoke weed' in a few years some of these people will be turning to worse drugs like cocaine, maybe even as bad as crack, meth, or heroin.

You already turning to ecstasy is already a sign that you are on the wrong path.  And yes you are young so you just don't know the extent of the damage that these drugs are doing to you.  This drug will kill serotonin producing nerve cells inside of your brain.  So the high you are getting is killing the brain cells that are giving you the high.

The damage is permanent... I was one of those kids that still did pretty good in school and thought I could just quit in a few years and live a happy normal life.  But it just doesn't work that way... the brain can recover to a certain extent with your sobriety... but there is going to be some permanent damage here that you are going to have to live with for the rest of your life and you are only 15 years old.

Addiction isn't just the a temporary chemical imbalance in the brain and 'oh I need another fix, I need another fix, but I know I can quit someday and everything will be okay'... addiction is also partly a measure of the permanent damage done to your body that will last you for the rest of your life.

YES you are developing an addiction that will affect you as a disease for the rest of your life.  Please do yourself a favor and stop now.

I would say weed is the  LEAST of your worries, Of course smoking it the conventional way is not as healthy as say vaporizing it... HOWEVER... you are 15, you should NOT be messing with these substances. Extacy is terrible for you, and kills so many young people a year. It also does so much damage to your body. I know right now it doesnt seem like a big deal, but when you are 30 ( and trust me that seems old now... but is totally NOT..lol) and your body is falling apart and you cant do normal activities etc... you will wish you didnt do so many drugs! TRUST ME. Like Previous poster said... examine why you are getting high on a regular basis. usually there is some other issues deep in there that need to be worked out. most addicts have a lot of baggage, and internal emotional issues... OR they are self medicating for a condition such as Bipolar or depression.  I hope this gives you some things to ponder on.

Good luck!

Hi psychedelicsquid,

I like the name.  It's tough to say if you are addicted or not.  I can say that smoking weed isn't very healthy and it does damage the brain.  People tried telling me that  when I was about 17 but back then I thought I knew better than they did and continued to smoke anyway.  Do you think you're addicted?  A way to test is to see how long you can stop for.  While you are stopped are you edgy, irritable, or just feel like you need to get high?  That can be a sign that you may be addicted.  Take a look at yourself and ask why do I get high?  Do I do it to fit in? Do I do it to escape?  Stuff like that. I hope you get the answers you are looking for .  Take care.
