Help!!

My boyfriend has problems with alcohol. He has admitted it to me and we plan on going to AA meetings together. He tried to stop but he is having physical symptons like vomiting, headaches, and shaking. It is affecting his job and that has caused severe anxiety. He has cut down to 2 beers a day but he is still having some symptoms and he just seems to be miserable. Is there any medication or does anyone have any ideas that could help him. I think he can mentally do this, but the physical symptoms is bringing him down.

It's not just 2 beers a day.... if it is indeed a problem.

Good luck.

Curious --- what did you try or is working in lieu of AA?  Or are you totally alcohol free?

I still find the 2 beer habit with symptoms a bit unusual; there must be other factors, and not only medication .

It sounds odd to me for those symptoms for only 2 beers a day also. Could be something nuerological, see the doctor..I'm not a big AA guy for a few different reasons but there are other things you can try. The great thing about the inernet is that you have a world of resources at your fingertips. Take care

I find physical symptoms of only 2 beers a day odd for some reason.  There has to be more what's going on.  I would think a doctor's visit would be in order with the proper medication prescribed. AA meetings together sounds like a good idea too, but I haven't done that yet, so I'm not one to talk.
