Ohhhh , that's rich. What do you call that again Tink ?...... Oh yeah , tough love i think ? I remember a man telling me something similar @ one of the first A.A meets I went to. Something along the lines of " Your not welcome here , you haven't fallen hard enough yet , go home." I was devastated & MF'ed A.A. every chance I got. Needless to say , I did suffer greatly & it was years before I ever came around an A.A. meet again. Does this make you happy too Tink ? Maybe you should wish that he loses a gall bladder " On The Way Down " too. I'm sorry , but I'm shaking with anger right now! Somebody comes here seeking answers and he runs into self rightous clown like your self ?
You might think you are helping & I'm sure your heart is in the right place , but if you have nothing good to say then don't saying anything at all. Its no wonder why people have such a negative opinion about A.A. and I'm sure that comments like yours will
assure that that image stays alive & well.
OH YEAH- And make sure that 7 year old is somewhere else while you are on your way down. K?
You're almost at the bottom. I wish you more pain till you are there.
Then you will be able to "do it".
I am on campral. They recommend taking it for a year. It has helped my cravings but no it is not a magic pill, but definitely has helped me. Ask your dr. about it and stay away from places and people that u have done drinking with in the past. Also go to AA and get a sponsor. You can do it! TJ
DRINKING is merely a symptom of the problem. The way you drink depends on whether or not you are a "real alcolic" or someone who has a problemm with drinking. No magic litte pill is going to be able to heal you mentally, spiritually AND physically but lots of luck.
u go girl...i agree..good words boozer...its ALL up 2 u!think of ur daughter who u say means the world 2 u?
You say you have a serious problem "yet can do nothing about it."
Really? YOU can't do anything? If YOU can't, who can? The truth is you can do something about your drinking but you CHOOSE not to for some reason. Too difficult perhaps? Might be bored without drinking? I understand---I said those words too years ago.
You have to make the decision. Easy as that. No one can do it for you, only you. You've heard this before I'm sure but really think about the question you're asking and what would the only answer be? YOU have to decide and take action to quit. And I'll tell you if you do this you will be a changed man and have a life far better than you have now and you will be in control of your life. It's a great place to be----to be in control of one's life.
I'm not saying it will be easy---it may or it may not be----but you decide....
