Allergic reaction to doxycycline?

I have been a very "sickly" person the last 20 years or so.  Constant bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis as well as mystery hives and infections on even the smallest paper cut.  After sinus surgery I developed a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection that seems to have colonized in my sinus'.  I have a great number of environmental allergies and have learned that I am allergic to Keflex and sulfa drugs/antibiotics.  It has gotten to the point that I can only take a Zpack, amoxicallan or doxycycline with the doxycicline as the last resort drug when the other 2 have failed (I typically have to take 2 or 3 courses to "cure" an infection.  Well today I seem to be having an allergic reaction to the doxycycline.  I am itchy all over with red patches that are not exactly hives but are still all over.  My face is flushed like I have been running in the heat.  I have a headache am really nauseous my tongue itches.  I am dizzy and wheezy.  I can not tell if the wheezing is from the infection or the drugs. My eye is itchy as well.  Or should I say the portion that is under my top eyelid is itchy.  I have taken benadryl and have not progressed any further than that..  My question is can I take the docycicline if I also take benadryl?  There is nothing else I can take to get rid of this bronchial infection.  There is a really good chance I have a primary immunodeficiency but until I get to a hematologist I have no idea what.  My GP is out of town until Monday (again)  I really just want to get rid of this infection.  I am so very tired of always being sick.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament and truly sorry for the late reply. Looks like your allergic responses are causing rash, Allergic Rhinitis & Allergic Conjunctivitis. If the reactions have started after consumption of doxycycline, you could be allergic to the medication. It is possible to develop allergic reaction to substances, to which we did not exhibit a reaction before. We can develop allergies to different things throughout our lifetimes as the allergy develops in response to a repeated stimulus.  If you haven't undergone formal allergy testing, that might be beneficial.

And please stop using doxycycline, if it is triggering your allergic reactions. Consult your doctor for alternate antibiotics.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Is it common for you to forget to carry your medication? Many people have medication that can prevent medical emergencies. My question to you: is it common that you forget to carry it with you? If so, what are the major causes or reasons? Would you want a solution for this problem and pain of remembering everything?
